Hey all,

Sorry for the forum "spam". Just had some free time, so ddcided to post a bit here. Anyways, thanks to Mad Games, the upcoming free Gold given from 5.5, and a bit of my wallet given out, I'll be picking up the ST-I soon.

1. Any tips you lot can offer?

2. I've heard the ST-I is better than the IS-4 tier for tier. Is this true? If yes, should I even bother researching the IS4?

Thanks,

Definitely research the is4, it is one of the best tier x heavys.

I do not think the st1 is better tier 4 tier.

ST-1 is a monster of a tank. Probably one of the best armor layouts for tier 9. Try and use every opportunity to go hull down....turret is amazing. Hull and side armor is also really strong, proper sidescraping and angling and you can take all kinds of abuse. The gun is pretty nice to. I'd just make sure you're always in the frontline, properly using your armor. Hope that helps

Once at the ST-1 the IS-4 is a given if you want to run tier 10 tourneys. Can you afford the 9 million credit price tag including equipment is the only question.

Lucky you buddy boy I just finished that line and it’s fresh in my head, so first rule for the st-1 make sure you are on the frontline, rule number 2 always jump at the opportunity to go hull down you turret is borderline op just wiggle and move a bit and bounce the biggest guns in the game with ease(my favorite past time with it is bouncing Death Stars), and rule number three always side scrape when given the opportunity, rule number 4 if you get the chance to 1v1 a tier 8 heavy take it you are an absolute bully in the thing to and IS3 löwe the lot you will be a monster if you follow these rules good luck in battle my friend

It is. Is-4 has a small increase in ufp and side strength, but the St-1 has better angle on the ufp and shoulders.

Is-4 can be penned rather easily by TDs, and tier X is full of TDs.

"Blitz" can't exist within a world of TDs.

well you can angle pretty well I’ve 1v1 268 and bounced plenty of his ap shots and he actually started using heat but I ended up winning

Angled the is4 becomes immune to most tds at a range. In close quarters, the fact that guns point down at the armor combined with normalization means they have a chance of penning. There is also a hatch(?) Or something on the front which is 200mm but very poorly angled. It is about 270-290 when angled.

Then of course, the LFP.

I auto researched the kv-3, kv-4 and the ST-I yesterday thanks to the removal of the kv-13. I was recently going down the IS-3 line but I was lazy and failed to research the bl-9. I now have the ST-1 with the upgraded turret and the bl-9 (which took too much exp to research). I haven't researched the tracks yet nor the engine or the M62 top gun (I have 35000 exp on the ST-I). With my current modules, I think the ST-I is a great tank but I think the pen is lacking on the bl-9 (less than the IS-6 top gun) and it is a bit too slow to move around. Can anyone give me tips on how to drive this tank and keep up with my team?
