Is anyone else’s connection for Blitz just ridiculously bad lately? Cuz I’m bout to go buy a new router or something. Something has to change. Or is it the servers themselves that are unstable?  I’d like to be sure. Ping bouncing all over the place. Game crashing during loading a few times. I’m getting messages about unstable conditions because graphics settings are too high for my device, but I’m ona brand new gaming laptop so that’s [edited]. Lowered them anyway just to see if it helped, and no. I actually got the same message later in the day.

So my I look to my router. It is 3 years old and it’s an 802.11n type instead of the newer faster 802.11ac. It is dualband but I can’t seem to access the 5GHz band, only the 2.4GHz.

I tried using an Ethernet cable but it wasn’t much better at all. Do the router’s speed capabilities even come into play with an Ethernet cable or is that only for WiFi and essentially bypassed at that point? I did a quick google search but didn’t see a straight answer and I don’t have time to slog through pages of how it works internet connection info right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Should I upgrade or is that a waste because something else is actually the problem?

I’ve been experiencing these occasional micro stutters where things are going smoothly and then there’s a half second where things just jump or shift. Has only happened a few times so far though. Don’t think it’s frame rate but more a networking issue. Started with 5.6 or 5.6.1.

I have had the game completely crash once on my iPad as well which hasn’t happened in years.

PS. To be clear, I think these problems are a game issue because there are quite a few people experiencing them.

The game crashing with mutterings about graphics settings being too high is a new phenomenon (it started this morning for me).  Several clanmates have also experienced this, and there are threads about some graphics glitches on different platforms.  Probably all of it is related to some issue on WG's end, not anything wrong with your setup.

Its on their side.  I've been lagging the last few days too, and I have very good WiFi at my house (pre-5.6 I normally had ping around 20).  Lately its been jumping from 20-200.

When I played the game (I've stopped now; I only post on the forums), I played using a Netgear 802.11n type connection on the same 2.4GHz frequency. This is on a Win 7 laptop (with the same notorious problems involving connecting to WiFi using the Windows 7 adapter) using WiFi. The only time I ever lagged was when I was either

  1. Playing the game while someone else was downloading a large file (google play updates, netflix, etc)
  2. One-two days after a new update.

My best advice is to wait until about 5 to 6 days after the day the updates drop in order to avoid the lag caused by increased server loads and the servers not being adapted to the newer update.

If your router is three years old, and dual band, you shouldn’t have to replace it. WOTB needs very little bandwith but likes low latency. One could play it on 3/.768 DSL accounts and 802.11b/g just fine.

Been playing this game for a long time, all my equpment is the best there is, blitz is failing regularly for me, kicked from battle at the most un opportune moments, lag occasionally but main thing is being kicked from battle.

Yesterday, kicked out from the game twice, normally it does not happen.
Today, shots are late. I shoot, there's nothing, then damage shows up. Ping up and down.

Experienced a game 5 days ago where my tank started running off under no control and when it came back about 10 seconds later everyone on both teams had the same issue at the same time.

I realize new updates are particularly lag inducing, but I have been having ping problems for years. It’s why I play almost exclusively in the AM. As soon as prime internet hours roll around and everyone is getting home from work and school in the area, my ping gets unstable. No one else online in the house and I make it a point to disconnect all other devices from the WiFi. I also disable windows update, and all background downloads etc. So my question is, is this entirely my internet company’s fault or is there something I can do to avoid this such as buy a better router? Also, does router speed even matter if you are using Ethernet?

Numerous times today, the game locked up at the start (battle loading screen). I had to close the app and go back in. Never happened before. Definitely not running like it use to.

I’ve been lagging really badly since at least the update came out. I just don’t get it. I moved recently, but that was two months ago and it’s the same service (Verizon) and locates literally a mile away. Maybe my new apartment building is full of internet addicts. God I hope not. It doesn’t seem to be worse at peak hours, but I don’t know.

Hopefully the server side clears up and that’s the extent of the issues we seem to be having.

I traced my ip using PingPlotter. I am losing packets in Chicago @

  be2765.ccr41.ord03.atlas.cogentco.com

my solution is not to purchase anything until reliable connections return.
