I am so tired of Mines. It needs to be removed from the game or at least for tiers higher than 6. It sucks. It just promotes camping and clueless game play. I HATE IT.

What bugs me the most about this map is that it's inflexible.  TD's have their camping spots, meds take the hill or snipe from the west, heavies play on the slopes, and you slog until someone loses.  The only variation is that sometimes you can try to go behind the hill but that's most likely to end up badly.  I do think it's a good map for noobs, helps them to learn tank roles and how important it is to follow them, but beyond tier 5 or 6 it's just a boring map.

Agreed. Your post adds a lot of the detail and same thoughts I have, but neglected to add to my original post.

Mines is [edited]. End of story. It suffers the same problem that Copperfield did; too small for the gameplay of Tier 8+.

If I were to become president tomorrow...this would be my first priority.

Revamp mines.

I do play supremecy, but like to have the variety of encounter. Wargaming had tried to "fix" this map multiple times over my tenure as a player (Since 2014), and they fail at it every time. It is a good map for lower tiers, but for higher tiers it is broken. Especially, when considering the view ranges of higher tier TDs that camp.

I personally dont mind it, I preferred old mines where you could get onto the upper hill area with a fast tank. I used to do that all the time as a new player in my t2 light and scare the reds. Now I just flank through lighthouse and abuse bushes whenever a toonmate forces me to play encounter and that works well enough

This.  I play encounter only when a platoon mate has it set.  If you like encounter, switch to that mode when you want it, don't leave to random.  Frankly I kinda miss Mines.

I like Mines.

It's probably one of the more underestimated maps IMO, and one of the few asymmetrical maps I actually like.

Sure, the inital stages play out fairly similarly on each match, but the mid game on mines becomes far more dynamic, and requires more thought than most maps.

Do you retreat back to underneath the hill where your TDs can possibly cover you?

Do you turn around and destroy the enemy flankers going through town?

Do you move to an island corner to control the hill entrance?

Do you make a bold push through the town or island to get to a corner to spot the enemy TDs and crossfire the hill?

Do you push onto the hill while the enemy isn't looking?

There's so many different things to do on mines after the opening moves by both teams which makes it far more dynamic than other maps where the moves are a lot more preset

don't tell anyone, but you still can get on the hill without going up the main path

One of my favourite maps and an under appreciated map to how complex it is.  There are counter positions to standard positions and then counters to those counters.  It’s is a wonderfully complex map that can be played a multiple number of ways not just the rush the hill way

I like Mines.

If the other team has more speed it's stupid for the lights and meds to rush the hill and mindlessly die.

You can win on Mines without rushing the hill.

There is a reason they don't use this map for Twister Cup and other big tier 10 tournaments.

It is a map that promotes the TD camping playstyle, so I hate it.

"Blitz" can't exist within a world of TDs.

that’s because they didn’t make a supremacy for it.

On PC, Mines is one of the 8 primary competitive maps that has been played pretty much since the beginning, and Blitz Mines is basically identical to PC Mines, but the distances are slightly scaled down

Yea, it’s annoying at high tiers. But I think it’s good for lower tiers as it teaches limited options to win on some maps. Maybe up to 7 though. :playing:

I agree.

Mines force you not to be what some are complaining about. Think when to push or when to pull back. look at your team composition. Do they or your team have more TDs? Just recently, I posted a video about how adopting to a situation can win a battle in this map (tier III, but applicable to all):
