Does anyone build plastic armor models? My next project is a 1:35 scale King Tiger with full interior.

I did a Academy Tiger 1 with full interior, fun build. Doing a Stug 4 build right now. What brand is your kit?

Which Stug 4 are you building?

Academy kit, released in 1987. Not the best quality back then, lots of defects. But it will make for a good airbrushing practice piece.

Looking forward to seeing your progress on it.

Ebay! $50.00 plus shipping. I've wanted to build a full interior tank for years.

That sounds like a pretty nice deal and I admire your creative nature in wanting to make an interesting project like that happen. Like Kutter sez, update us as to your progress and let us see your work once it is completed. Looking forward to it!

I've seen that full interior King Tiger completed before, it's absolutely gorgeous.  Best of luck to you on your build!

I've built and painted: Finemolds CV33 1/35, Academy Hetzer 1/35, Tamiya Marder 1/48, and Academy Tiger 1 1/35.

Recently I binged on a bunch of Plats and Finemolds kits from Girls Und Panzer, like the Oorai's Anko Pz IV, Oorai's Chi-Nu, Kuromorimine's Tiger 1

and the Chi-Ha Tan Academy Chi Ha.

It'd be pretty cool to share pictures of our builds!

Wow $50 that's cheap. I've got a Academy 1/35 Hetzer coming from Ebay. Going to pick up a Tamyia kit next to see how well they build.

how was the Academy Hetzer to build?

There are a lot of great model kits out now. I'm going to be building an Early Tiger (Dragon), as well as the KT. The Early Tiger will be a Dad Reich ride from the Battle of Kursk. I'm scouring the Net, looking for info on Kurt Knispel's King Tiger from France in 1944.

Funny thing is, I got into WOT Blitz from searching for a good tank game that had some good tanks, and game dynamics. I'm history teacher (high school), and historian (grad work was on the  Russia, and the Soviet Union). The game is a lot harder than I expected.

I'll post some pictures of one of the Tigers when I get the paint on. My box of built models for destroyed during moving. My idiot friend dropped a box of books on it from the deck of the UHaul.

Tamiya's new offerings seem to be pretty amazing. A friend of mine built the new Panther D. He said the fit was perfect. I need to find a cheaper hobby. I got the KT on a lucky auction. The guy didn't have a reserve, and barely any other bids.

The Hetzer's Chassis is a tub build, so the main bulk of the body is in two pieces.  The Academy Hetzer was very simple to put together, took me about a couple hours tops really taking my time and cleaning off the mold lines and sanding.  I ended up painting mine in solid tan since I was too chicken to try and paint and complex camo (only could hand paint at the time, but now I own a airbrush).

Goodluck with your Dragon model kits, the Pz IV Anko I have in the box is a Dragon kit too, and they're notorious for very detailed and very complex pieces.  The track links have to be added individually so I'm just procrastinating on this one lol.

Same here.  I was always a fan of WWII history and I found WOT Blitz by chance.  I still get salty and upset but the game is extremely fun, being able to drive around in the very tanks I collected, painted and researched for fun.  I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work!  I still need to figure out how to put up pictures on these forums lol

The first kit I build in 20 years was the Academy Tiger 1 with full interior, it came with individual track pieces. After trying for a couple days to get them to work properly and then try to fit them to the wheels for the proper sag I gave up. I cant source a proper adhesive that has a delayed bond time. I found a set of Afv Club rubber track on Ebay,  they showed up this week and after a test fit they will do the trick. Now if i could only find a track update for the Stug4

I have a set of WWII Productions resin tracks that snap together for one of my Tiger I’s. They’re now made by GTG Resin. Accurate and easy to put together.
