When compared to other autoloaders it has the longest reload. The IS3D has a 7.5 sec (in between shells) and most other autoloaders are in the 2-4 sec range. Which then leads me to believe that the defender is not as op as it once was when it was like the only high tier autoloader. I feel like 7.5 sec is just too long now.

IMHO the T28D is far better. Better gun depression, better pen, better frontal armor and better accuracy.

What it loses in mobility it makes up for in the other categories.

It's already lost it. Tier 8 has been saturated with so many high-performing premiums and the freemiums have since been buffed to keep up. Defender doesn't stand out anymore like it used to but it's still somewhat competitive.

Soon as we started getting lights and tanks with much faster autoloaders it slipped imo.

i remember when it first came out, and u drove into one u would need a change of underwear.  Now if u come across one it’s more like “ oh look at that, haven’t seen one of those in a while”

other autoloaders dont have what IS3d has.
Lowest profile (always looks too narrow)
7deg with strongest turret armor to use that with

its ability to absorb damage might have been reduced cus all the better guns at t8 and even 7

its still one of those tanks that holds its OP title in my book.  sure gun is very very [edited]that all matters less on front lines

Would it be too much if the IS3D got buffed? IDK let's say 6.5 sec reload? I think it's far that it should have a longer reload but I still want a chance at winning against another autoloader.

I think it's still really strong, definitely one of the top tanks at Tier VIII in my opinion. Sure it's been powercreeped, but it can still easily hold it's own, especially if you're not a nonce.

But I won't complain if WG buffs it for being "underpowered". :coin:

About time, that thing used to be pure cancer back in the day, finally has met its match with all the new vehicles in the game can give it a run for its money.

You haven't heard of the gold hack? It allows you to have unlimited gold for free which is how I got all my premiums.

(totally kidding...WG don't ban me)

most all premiums was op at one time. type 59, is-6, is-3 defender, etc...

what happens is every patch or maintenance after they sell you that $50 tank. they slap it with a nerf bat. sometime its a big nerf at 1 time. making the change really noticeable. then sometime it's a little bit at a time.

moral of the story is... if you are buying a premium tank. dont do it because your friend told you how op it is.

do it because you like the looks of it. they will nerf it as soon as the next premium of that category/tier comes out

The defender still has the coolest electrical arcs in the engine compartment.

A good heavy driver knows how to make shots bounce off their armor, how to use cover while fighting at the front, when to get out there and just take the shot to protect his team, to keep the reds attention focused so his team can flank, and to consistently do damage while all of that happens.
