With so many IS variations in tier 8 is the IS3 at the bottom as far as the IS tanks?

Uhmm, what about the IS-2SH...ite? I drove the IS-3 when i was noob-glued to the KV-1, but i could at least side-scrape, hull-down properly in it. It does, however, need a buff to mitigate the steep powercreep it suffers from.

I'm personally In love with the IS3 I believe I play it better than all of my other IS tanks at tier 8, it has AP instead of APCR as its primary ammunition which has its pros and cons, its armor isn't great but is can be reliable if your in a charge and serpentine left and right which will result in you producing a good amount of bounces. It reaches its top speed pretty quickly and has decent hull and turret traverse.

Is-2sh is the worse followed by the is-5 imo. The is-6 is still the best for my preference.

Not even close. The IS-3 is definitely right behind the IS-5 in terms of quality. IS-2SH And IS-6 are both in the running for the worst.

One of the tanks I had the most fun playing. I really enjoyed the IS3. Its probably the best IS in its tier. Very noob friendly also like all soviet tanks.

The IS-3 is still relevant.  I prefer it to the IS-5.  The IS-2SH is my favorite IS to see on the red team.

i often see it regarded as one of the best.

currently i feel like the is-5 is the worst, but that's mostly because it's the last one i played.

i haven't played the is-6 in forever, hows it handle things these days, is it at all different than it used to be?

If you don’t like the IS3, don’t bother with the rest of them, because it may be the best of the lot.

I loved the IS-3 and have kept it. The IS-5 has a great price at 1,500 gold and an excellent armor profile but that gun, BLECH. IS-6 decent too, except it’s bouncy 175 pen gun.

I think it's the exact opposite; IS-3 is the best of all the IS tanks at tier VIII

First off, IS-3 has the overall best mobility of all the IS tanks, with the best p/w ratio of all of them, the best traverse, and a very healthy 38km/h speed limit

Secondly, IS-3 also has the best turret armor of all the IS tanks, with the turret being straight up invincible; no cupolas, no weakspots.

And finally, IS-3 gets the BL-9, with the highest penetration of all IS tanks, and the best fully aimed accuracy, while the gun handling is about average.

Although the IS-3 suffers from weak aim time, slightly lower DPM, and worse frontal hull armor than other IS tanks, the strengths give the IS-3 so much more potential than the others.

All in all, IS-3 is the most versatile of the IS tanks. The fully aimed accuracy means that IS-3 isn't forced to only fight in close quarters brawls like an IS-5 or a WZ-112-2, the invincible turret means that IS-3 doesn't have to be worried about getting penned in a hulldown like an IS-6 or an IS-2SH, and the mobility means that IS-3 can rotate quicker and take key positions better than a Glacial or a WZ-111. IS-3 can be a little fickle, but its well rounded nature and solid performance keeps it relevant, despite being such an old dog

Personally I think the IS-6 is still king of the heap.

For me it goes; IS-6, IS-3, IS-3 Defender, IS-5, then IS-2H.

I like the WZ-112-2 better because it doesn't have a pike nose, but Positve's not wrong, the IS-3's gun and mobility are the best of the bunch.

Interesting take. I think you have to look at it from the POV of who’s playing the tank. Good players will have a totally different take than the average or below average player. If you compare my stats(avg player) in the IS-3,5,6, there is no competition between the 6 and the 3/5. I do far better in the 6. In fact I sold my 3 last year because I was so awful. I keep the 5 only because it’s a premium and it can make credits.

The contemporary wisdom is the IS-6 is more noob friendly. Looking at Blitzstars, the IS-5(54%) has the best average WR, followed closely by IS-6(53%), and IS-3(51%). The 5 gun trolls me something awful. I believe it comes down to personal preference and play style.

I think the quality of a tank really depends on who is driving it, but there are a few tanks that just aren't great in anybody's hands.

Hate that tank. Never worked for me ever since i got it and the teams I'd get didnt help any.

I may have a few too many tanks. I think I was over 150 in garage by last count.
