Nice game -- I opened the video in a separate window so I could read your comments about the game as I watched.

When I try that spot, I am always pressed by a red light/medium,  grrrr.     I suppose it was, like you said, the threat of taking a big hit that keeps the red 54 at bay.

Should this have been posted in the video vault?

Peace-

Boris

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

I’d play the Ru or BlackDog for 90mm lol’s.

T49 means Low Velocity 152mm - To me it’s about the fear factor a lot of tanks won’t push you, at least the ones that could do it quickly when you got the big gun.   They’re worried about taking an 800+ HE hit and getting set on fire.

But yeah it’s frustrating a lot of times to simply land at 200 Dmg.

You’re right in that, when I play tier 8 I fear facing a T49 who has my sides or rear. It has a huge fear factor  even for heavies. I think just as many say it’s a hit or miss tank. Go big or go home.

It's a force of habit. Lots of us players who played the pre-nerf T49 became used to the god-like power of the derp gun, so we rarely run anything else.

Plus running the 90mm makes it a taller Ru 251 with worse HE so what's the point.

Honestly I would just play it to grind the T57. No other reason, that’s the only point for me.

If only teams could learn to play well and rush with others. That's why Blitz always has unsatisfied players. They are too lazy to do something while unicums carry

If you’re just now playing the 49 oh I feel for you. It was ridiculously funny to play it when it had the broken module damage. Going against a red t49 it was a 75% chance one of you would ammo rack the other.

I had 4 ammo racks in one game that’s how broken the module damage was.

As as for the video, you did ok.

I find I get more splash damage against IS spam if I aim under the tank with HE. It usually gets over 300 and often knocks out a module or two. I find it a bit more reliable then splashing the front. Of course getting behind them is always preferable, but it’s not always possible.

I used to have a picture here but tiny pic took an arrow to the knee....

  Gg, well played

Guys play scared and cowardly and don’t do anything to help. They take up bad positions without shots and sit there and wait to get flanked.

Then they call you nub because it’s your fault they suck.

I’ve played the same game a hundred times since Friday night.

I had this exact game yesterday. Then got raged at in PM for not being with team and dying early. Seriously, a 183 who did half the damage I did in my tier 9 light raged directly at me for not being there with the team who set up in our spawn. I was last to die with 3 kills and top damage. :harp:

I would need to try. maybe it depends on which IS and on the angle as well...

I want to firstly point out - this is not intended to be a brag post -- I uploaded it simply as an educational video on the rewards of patience - and to play your tank to it's role.

If you watch the video -

I get spotted at 0:48, I move out of an area where I could get hit.

I have a shot on the IS-5 - but RNG says no - and I miss (the joys of T49 gunnery) - I am spotted and roll back to cover.

I jokcey back and forth on reload - watching both my screen and the minimap.

But watch how we lose our first tank the T-54 Lt Wt, - it is sad and needless.  -- he's clearly spotted and rolls forward taking hits on a hill in full view of a plentitude of red guns --- don't do this.

We start to focus the reds who we outnumber -- 3 reds still unspotted.

Green Pershing goes down into the river - totally nullifies his gun depression and turret armor.

At around 1:40 the red "flank" is seen in town.

I push forward deeper on the "island" as I know I can't stay where I was -- I risk a shot - but I gambled due to the red guns being focused elsewhere and do not take any hits - despite my quicker but more exposed route.

2:04 Green Pershing is creamed in the open of the river valley -- whoops.

By 2:18 Green T34 has been taken out by the red "flank".

3-0 red team

The VK 100 jumps down to the river valley - perhaps to get away from the reds behind - but which gives him no place to use his armor, he could have tucked to the side of the ridge - but alas.

3:1 when our team gets the T54E1

2:46, I need to rotate to deal with the Scorpion.

3:15 - 3:2 red when our 704 takes out the one shot IS-5

3:18 - briefly 3:3 when I take out the Scorpion - but quickly back 4:3 when we lose the 704.

The 5:3 red when the VK pushes into red.

Watch the rest...

Great video.

It really emphasizes the importance of camo. I am continually amazed at how camo is overlooked or outright ignored by so many players, even in the higher tiers. Most know what camo is, but as soon as it’s broken early in the game, just forget about it and don’t even bother trying to reset.

I used to think the E25 was a useless crap tank and it wasn’t until I learned about its camo properties -and how to seriously abuse them, that I found how much fun and effective it could be.

I don’t have the T49, but I might try it out the near future. I does look like a lot of fun.

Yeah, I'm back. Let's not make a big deal about this.

So many folks want to brawl so early -- they should just the lightbulb permanently on when you are spotted in tier 1-6 so folks can realize you can actually reset Camo...

Spotting and camo are skills that take more than basic understanding to use. They are also the main 2 things you need to learn in order to improve your game play from tater to competent. When you know those 2 things options open up for you and the light switch starts to turn on and makes you realize the game is not controlled by the tanks you thought were OP.

Besides the brawltards you mentioned, what I see are guys who aren’t willing to be spotted at all because they’re that ignorant about it. They don’t realize they can move without being seen and don’t realize the value of making themselves seen or understand how to reset camo.

I think not being spotted is a something they focus on too much because they don’t understand how it works. When I 1st started, learning how to move around without getting my hind end shot off was one of the toughest things to learn and that was back when we had binocs. It’s ten times easier now and most of these guys are playing like theres a Leo out of range with binocs and eyes on them with 2 unspotted 183s somewhere out there looking to derp them.

I'd say the flank through town by the IS-3, T32 and Skorpion where all large contributors -- the RU, T-54 Lt Wt and T54E1 not crossing the river another - the IS-5 who mouthed off to me at the start was honestly the only red who tried to play his role on that map.
