I recently saved up the 3.3 million credits to buy the M46 Patton. I have worked it up to 80% crew and upgraded the engine and the turret. Should I go for the 68K xp 105 mm gun first or the 28k xp tracks?

 

What’s the usual play style? (I’m guessing ridge fighter/ support line)

What consumables and provisions do you equip? Ammo loadout?

I would suggest 100% crew before you play a single game in it.

This is the downside of Blitz and their crew levels. You cannot just drop the crew into a Premium tank and grind them up to 100% before sending them out in their normal tank.

So, what consumable and provisions do you run on the fully upgraded tank? Do you need to carry a lot of pramo?

Ok, I’m a bit late on this but here’s my take:

The Patton is a great med with bad pen. The improved pen won’t help you much so just go with the rammer. The tank plays a bit like M103 without armor. I always found the best way to play it was to use the fun depression in that thing in every way. All you have is ROF and gun depression.

Since I’m pretty late, did you get the 48 Patton yet?

Yes, Ive got the Patton now fully upgraded and crewed, as well as recently researched the t10 M48 Patton (Looks like an M60 with that spotlight) using a 25% xp discount from a crate. Working on producing the 5.5 million credits through premiums (no cash involved).

The M60 is actually a Patton in real life, just with a few upgrades over the M46/47/48 variants.

I remember that the M60 got a machine gun turret in the cupola as one of those upgrades

The M46 Patton has a great gun with the second best dpm of all tier 9 meds (I think). The turret armour is subpar and you should not play hull down with it (play peek-a-boom). The tank is pretty easy to play and  quite generic so there aren’t really any secrets or specifics.

Hmmm... its been quite a while since I came back to this thread...

 

I got the m46 fully upgraded in October 2019 according to my records and was ready to move to the M48 as my first t10 by December. Well the M60 stole the M48’s intended decoration as my first t10 tank when it came in a snow globe container I opened right before clicking the 5.5 million buy button of the M48.

 

Both are great tanks. I still prefer peek a boom over a ridge for the m46 tho, especially on Mines and Canyon
