Every time I come up on one of these tanks 1V1 I get my butt handed to me. The only time I can defeat one is to sneak around behind him while he is going at another teammate and drop shells in his rear.

The little spots of green around his turret are just so hard to hit while brawling.

How do you handle these guys?

If you have over 200mm of penetration, shoot it in the lower plate, or the upper half of the upper plate. I know it shows as red on the hitskin, but the hitskin is lying to you. Tanks like the IS-3 will have no issue punching straight through, and if you load gold, it's nearly impossible to bounce. Basically, the only spot you need to avoid is the lower half of the upper plate.

The other place to shoot it would be the "missile launchers" since there is a tall, easily pennable cupola behind them which is also relatively easy to hit. The turret cheeks are also pretty easy to pen.

Also, even though the mantlet was stealth-buffed (you used to be able to pen that too), you can also shoot exactly where the gun is, that's only ~150mm of effective armor

Those are tubes with springs inside them. Their purpose is to stabilize the rather large gun. Not missile launchers :teethhappy:

I know they're not missile launchers, hence why I put it in quotes

It’s slowwww, getting to its sides and back is a good way to take it out and like most US tanks, has a weak butt, that can be penned with HE.

If you get a chance, look at some pictures the tank. You’ll see the extra armor plating welded to the front hull. It’s in a “< “ shape, with the top and bottom edges welded to the hull, leaving an air gap in the center. That air gap makes it spaced armor and it’s very hard to pen (and near impossible with HEAT). Where you want to shoot, is at those upper and lower areas, where the legs of the < are welded to the hull. THAT you can pen.

Yeah, I'm back. Let's not make a big deal about this.

From my experiences facing the super Pershing, I believe that the turret turns rather slow, so you have a Brit more time to hit the super Pershing’s sides and rear before he can shoot you.

Ill work on trying to get around it.  It feels like it can often keep up with a COD though..

Either way I just can't seem to pen it from the front.  I've checked it out in Armor Inspector, and the turret cheeks and the little machine gun port look like the only real weak spots from the front.  In a brawl, my aim is just too wild to pick out those little weak spots.

The armor model on armor inspector is actually incorrect atm.

For some reason armor inspector shows the spaced armor layer as being like 151mm nominal thickness when it's only 37mm; so it's actually much easier to pen than as shown in armor inspector

I need to get into a training room with someone and chase one of these things around with my RU251 or T69(!).

It's damn hard to experiment in the middle of a brawl.

Ok, this is wierd.  I have always used armor inspector on my mobile device.  On my mobile the super pershing looks completely red to a Lowe from the front.

But today I was using armor inspector in the browser, and this is what it looks like..

So I'm guessing the browser version is correct, and the mobile app is wrong?

Hmmm...

Yeah, I was brawling one yesterday in the AMX 1375 and that stupid tank only has 6 degrees of gun elevation.  I couldn't look up high enough to pen anything.

found the issue,,,you are so much faster than sp...in that case you need to either cod/track it or make some distance to fight at long range

Edit: Forgot red is for mods...so imagine the yellow as really saturated red

I can never seem to pen the lower plate. The cupola works good though.

Fact: Whenever there is one on Red, nobody knows how to pen it. When I drive one, all 7 Reds know how to pen me.
