Maybe WG is dying off after all. All the talented posters and/or SuperUnis, save for DMG and a few others, have completely bailed. I remember when window lickers and their pointless dribble would get roasted and banned. Now, WG has left the duties to brave souls like C6. I'm sad that i never enjoyed more of the old-school forumers, and didn't get to play OP tanks before the great nerfing. Maybe i'm just a curmudgeon that expects too much from this semi-abandoned forum. I'll still play, but even that is a crap-shoot with WG basically pushing away the old guard with their grand ideas, while a horde of mindless zombies take over. Meh, time to finally grind for the T49 and derp my disappointment away.

Careful with that T49, it’s highly addicting.

I will continue to bring mind-melting posts for your entertainment.

Also, note with the T49 is that HE is the more expensive ammo and HEAT is standard. Incredible if either pens, but a bit of a bummer for when there is too much armor and you can only gradually chip it away with HE

90% of tanks it sees can be HE penned. All tanks have spots heat will pen. Having said that don’t ever try to snipe. It’s got kv-2 like gun handling so get right in close.  If you can master when to yolo in and drop an HE round in the reds butt and get away, this tank is soooo much fun. it will also make you want to throw something when rng gets you, much like a kv-2.

But not too close, I have blown myself up more than once putting an HE round in the back of an M6.

Sometimes it's tough to stick around these forums.  I come to the forums to talk about a game that I like, but all the threads are about how bad the game is.  If I hated the game as much as some posters claim to, I would uninstall it and move on with my life, not sit around whining about it.  And even worse are those who quit playing but hang around the forums to complain about it.  I'm just so done with whiners right now.

Lets not pronounce the Death Knell (facebook that's low) for the forum's too quickly. It was abandoned by WG a while ago, got covered in graffiti and the windows were all broken out, but some stalwart community members have taken on the task of reviving it. This may take some time but I have hope that it will again shine as a beacon of information and interesting conversations.

My god.   You hit the nail on the head.   Especially those that still show up here, complain and don’t play the game anymore.  How pathetic.

This is exactly how I feel. We few active and engaged players have been turned to Uncle Scrooges by mutated ghosts of Blitz past. So much dread and misery that, well, loves company.

The forums are a open rotting wound.  Discord is the new forums.  WG doesn't have to develop it, and it brings many more players to the same place.  Barely any cost, and lots of benefits.

I am now the #1 ranked E75 on the NA server!

Not going to disagree, but discord is not the place to have a conversation. You just get lost in the scroll. Have not been back there since I was threatened with a ban for discussing discord here on the forum by a certain clan, so maybe its different now. At least here you can pick through the trash to find some gems.

I must admit to being a reticent member of the few discord servers I've joined due to the endless scrolling and arbitrary bans. I might give it a go again; pretty sure I've yet to join many of the bigger servers.

The non WG Blitz ones run by clans are great! Some are more active than others but tend to be open minded with minimal trolls.

Sadly the WOTB NA forums no longer get official attention like they used to in the golden era.

It is the modern thing to jump on discord, but getting help with an issue or finding an answer to a question, on very busy servers, is like talking out loud in a busy train station and hoping somebody responds and has the time and ability to converse in a meaningful way.

I like discord and use it nearly daily for clan stuff, but I just use large servers for feedback, bugs and polls.

As far as FB ... meh.

Figured I'd weigh in here...

214lbs.

Here's a different spin on the number of "whiners" hanging on in the forums, from a self-described grumpy old fart who spends a bit too much time beaching and moaning about a toilet game...

Do you want to know how much I complain about the things wrong with PUBG on PUBG forums?  None.  I don't like the game.

How about "World of Z" on their forum?  None.  Not interested.

How about even BoatBlitz?  You guessed it... zero.  No interest.  Subject and gameplay are both meh.

Think about that ex-girlfriend you keep stalking on social media or whatever... if you really had no further interest and didn't care, you wouldn't bother.  Oh, wait, cardinal sin, forgot my audience... many of the purple folk likely haven't had girlfriends yet.  But I'm sure you can use your imagination.  Oh, wait, forgot my audience... millennials.  You've watched a Netflix show on your phone where something like this has happened.  Or whatever you tight-pantsed V-neck wearers do.  You're just dull yet creepy, why am I even typing things to you?

Oh yeah, personal mental issues, that's why... I digress...

The reason this forum harbors more than a few "bitter clingers" is that, more than many other games, there is a significant abandoned customer base.  A few years ago, when they had domestic employees that actually gave a crap (or at least gave the appearance thereof) about customer communication and engagement, it drew a lot of us in.  Gameplay... let's be honest... wasn't necessarily better.  There may have been less p2w, but lag was worse, bugs were rife, fewer features, modes, options, etc.  But... there was customer involvement.  People created things for this game:  Podcasts.  Tournaments.  Unofficial contests.  Vlogs.  Whatever... and WG, at the time, helped to foster that.  WG asked for our feedback, and seemed to listen.

Let's fast-forward to now.  There's a contest to create a camo, with some pretty substantial prizes.  The now-centralized powers of WG put forth a seemingly simple set of conditions to entry, with unfortunately a few gaping holes... mainly, by dispersing an editable file of over 35mb in size and (seemingly) requiring that edited file to be emailed back.  Obviously, the forum gave no further insight.  Hilariously, though, the designated discussion thread on the oh-so-much-better Discord ALSO never answered that question (or several other questions) adequately.  One of the Moderators called everybody stupid for not understanding.  One of the WG employees called everybody "little spammers" and then closed further posts in the thread.  So now, to enter by their own rules, we have to somehow compress a ~36mb file PLUS a few screen shots into less than 20MB in size (no compressor program I have will accomplish this, btw), and send it to a mailbox that doesn't have the capacity to accept more than a few emails without filling up, apparently.  They put out a blanket statement that anyone not following the entry requirements to the letter will have their entry deleted, and they won't let anybody know if their entry was accepted or not.

This pretty much sums up the new system...

WG Commissars: "Here is our half-baked idea"

Customers: "Um... have you noticed this problem? Here's a possible solution"

WG Commissars: "SILENCE CAPITALIST PIGDOGS OUR WAY IS BETTER!!!

Customer: "Don't say we didn't warn you...."

[6 months later]

WG Commissars: "We now making change because we notice is broken.  Is good, yes?  Oh, by the way, complainer is banned.  Here is new half-baked idea and more crayon warpaints!"

Elsewhere... Discord?

Please.

Acrisis' assessment is spot-on regarding that.  Chat servers are no way to disseminate useful information in any enduring fashion... never have been.  They sucked for it when AOL made them, they sucked for the roughly quarter century since then, they suck now, they will continue to suck for all time to come.  They're a cacophony of ill-informed voices and self-appointed tiny virgin dictators with the attention spans of fruit flies and lyrical prose of phone books.  Clinging to them as the "future" is like voting for Socialists promising social and economic stability...

freakin' millennials.

If you can treat the forums like you treat a nagging wife - Ignore the [edited]but listen enough to keep out of trouble.

There is mindless dribble and constant whining but valuable content that is easier to follow than the rambling in discord.

I'm all about forums, they are valuable source and have taught me a lot. Loyalty is not a fault.
