I used to say that the British medium line was spectacular... except for the Cent 1.  When I did the grind for this tank I hated every second of it.  It is a tank that I literally rage sold three separate times.  Even up until a week or so ago I would put this poor tank down every chance I had... and then something magical happened.  Someone on Discord said "it really isn't that bad".  At first I was like "who is this psycho and why does he lie like this?"  He would have made more sense if he said "ketchup belongs on Hotdogs".  But then I started thinking... Was the Cent 1 really as bad as I remembered?  Was it the most horrid tank that I had ever played?  My heart said yes but my mind was starting to tell me something else.

So this morning I decided to give it another go and boy was I surprised.  I'm honestly wondering why I bad mouthed this tank for as long as I did.  I had a absolute blast playing the tank.  Now my win-rate this morning certainly isn't spectacular but I can't really fault the tank for that.  I would have had similar results in nearly any tier 8.  I'm simply not good enough to carry the players I was playing with this morning.   That wasn't the tanks fault though.  Considering the circumstances it played like a champ.  It does hull down well and the gun is much more solid then I remember.  The alpha is nothing to write home about but the pen and ROF are good.  On top of this the tank is mobile enough to get where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.

Is it the best tier 8 medium out there?  Probably not.  Is it far better than I made it out to be?  Definitely.

So in closing, Centurion 1 I'm sorry about all of the mean things I have said about you.  You rightfully deserve to be placed amongst such great tanks like the Crusader, Cromwell, Comet, Cent 7/1, and the 4202.

For those of you who have a tank you remember horribly, it may be time to revisit it.  You may just find that it wasn't as bad as you remember.

I repurchased the T29 about a week ago as I swore I hated the playstyle of American heavies. They were my first heavy line when I started playing and I simply couldn’t make it work. The reality was I didn’t know how to hull down correctly and subsequently got penned by everyone for poking too far up a ridgeline.

How foolish I was. I’ve gotten 2 masteries in the few games Ive played and feel near invincible once I get the turret and only the turret over that ridgeline now.

Returning to a tank - sometimes years gone by - that you had and were 100% certain on and being completely surprised is one of my favorite things about this game. Sure, buffs can sometimes make a difference, but more often it is your experience, tier changes, and simply an increased enjoyment for whatever style that tank demands. I'm hesitant to group the Cent 1 with that lineup of classic Brit tanks, but perhaps I'll give it another go. At one time I just wanted to get it over 50 and run far, far away.

I've got a few candidates for some personal review - Tiger II, T71, Nashorn. The slight 6.3 Tiger II buff has my attention.

It's not very good in its role as a medium.

However, it does a swell job of farming damage. Aggressive use will reveal just how fragile it is. Waiting for the meat shields to move forward and shrinking the bars displayed over enemy tanks from behind cover will hopefully weaken red team enough for a win. Get caught outnumbered in a close range dogfight and its game over...literally.

When I played Cent I was a nooob. But  I rebought it and got a mastery. I think it’s one of the most underrated mediums. I love the fast firing gun, the great turret. The main problem for me is it’s huge!

I know never say never, but I will never return to the Glacial 1 whatever it was.

The Cent sounds interesting.

I still don't like it and hated grinding it but I have done better with it then expected the last few times I've brought it out. I think the higher pen high dpm meds like the Cent can actually do better in the heavy armor tier VIII meta. However, I always preferred the Caernarvon and with it now having the speed boost consumable it can keep pace with the Cent but with better armor. But still good post, it has certainly getting a chance to stand out.

9 seconds reload times kills it for me.

ill take the patton any dayover it, better mobility, Great gun depression  , good turret and best DPM of any tier eight med.

The first tier 8 I researched and bought when I was a noobier noob and sold it quick, mostly because of the bad rep it got here and haven't picked it up.  I didn't hear too many good things about the rest of the line either  Just too many other grinds going on and way too many rehabbing going on.

As far as American heavies, Hull down is OP, nuf said!!

I will bite on the big part, definitely don't find it boring but have to really disagree on on the slow part. I get that that the upper speed is limited but once it gets up to speed it just stays there, over hill and dale it just keeps moving.

Ok it should be noted that I play fast tanks a lot. Been playing Drac, Skorp, and CDC so I might just be spoiled XD.
