Do you need lots of HEAT? How to play the t71? I have been trying sniping but I cannot get out the whole clip before some derp gun ammo racks me.

I find it to be a very strong tank right now, somewhat balanced by the double-whammy of facing t8 a lot and having poor pen. That said, I do not use much HEAT. I would play passive-spotter in the beginning, wait to see what opportunities there are to flank or finish off an isolated enemy.

It’s a pretty solid autoloader, rarely have I ever needed HEAT. Gun is solid, but has those typical autoloader limitations. The tank is a flexible scout, it is a pretty tall target though. The armor is also pretty thin and has a large surface area for EH to pen you. But it’s a light tank, what else is new?

I have a feeling that the turret turns slower than expected, or is that just me?

It's always been a support tank due to both being a light and autoloader. Since it faces tier 8 heavies regularly, you'll want to go for spotting and immobilizing support fire as you'll often scratch on their armor. Hopefully you can immobilize targets for your team to nuke. I almost never used HEAT unless i had a 90% chance of hitting and penetrating. This rules out a lot of shots due to tracks or spaced armor. Any more specific advice from me requires a refresher in the tank but lemme know if you want me to do so. I don't have any specific goals in game at the moment.

I may have a few too many tanks. I think I was over 150 in garage by last count.

I’m doing well using the T49 tactic (find lone enemy slow tank, circle round, hit him in the dies/rear, and run) and I am learning to only fire 1-2 shells from a sniper position so I don’t get nuked by a derp..

..and the typical thing to remember with auto-loaders is strategic reloading.  It can make a huge difference to engage an enemy with 3 shells ready to go, instead of 1 or 2.
