How many of you actually spend money on the in-game store crates. With the new Dracula and Helsing crates, how many of you have already spent on them. What did you get? Are any of you happy with what you got? Do you think it's fair? Is it priced reasonably?  Most of all, do you think crates are good for WoTB? What's your stance on the crate system in blitz?

Welcome to the forums!

And you've started off with an interesting question that will engender a lot of debate.  I do buy crates.  Especially when they are doing 3 for the price of two or whatever.  When buying crates, as with other forms of gambling, one should set a limit before you start.  Don't go crazy, that's how you end up in an alley....doing things for WG gold.

Anyway, the chance of actually getting the tank is always pretty low, if you actually get it you should just consider it a bonus.  But you usually end up getting gold, getting free XP certificates, and of course boosters and avatars and crap.  I think it's usually worth it due to the gold and free XP.

There's a lot of guys that really hate crates because of the gambling aspect.  And that's cool, I respect that point of view, but I personally enjoy gambling so I don't have a problem with it.  Just like drugs, driving a car, or self pleasure, you need to be able to control yourself or you should just not do it.

Edit:  And yes I've won tanks.  I won the drac in the first crate from the event.  I won the Cromwell B in a crate a few months ago.  And others I can't remember right now....

I spent way to much on the Dracula and Helsing crates(I really wanted the Helsing). All I got was a camo for the Drac a buttload of boosters and a decent amount of gold. Am I happy with what I got? Absolutely not, I now have a legendary camo I can’t use for the Dracula and that is infuriating. I don’t think crates are fair, because of the low chance you get. If they had a guaranteed tank drop after “X” amount of money was spent they would be totally fair. I believe I spent about $85 on crates and still no Helsing or Dracula :(. I think the crates for the most part are reasonably priced however, some are ridiculous! Are crates going to stay? Definitely, they are one of the main ways WG makes money, and if they don’t make money we don’t get to play.

In conclusion I spent a lot on crates, wasn’t happy with what I got, but will bear the shame of it as me giving them money means they are able to still keep our game online and active. Sorry for the essay ;)

I am quite happy having gotten a Helsing in an event but haven’t paid for a crate by itself. At a 3% or 6% drop rate it’s just not my idea of fun. Other adults enjoy that more than I do and people giving them money is always good for WG. What I don’t like is such crates being available to minors.

This is what you get for letting rednecks play with antimatter, boss.

What did you get?   -  I don't spend money on the game, let alone crates.

Are any of you happy with what you got? - I don't spend money on the game.

Do you think it's fair? - I do not think crates are either fair or unfair.  They are a revenue stream for WG.

Is it priced reasonably?  -  This question is relative to how much disposal income someone has to spend on games etc.  Someone very wealthy might not think twice about spending a hundred bucks on a game, while a college student is probably closer to free-to-play.

Most of all, do you think crates are good for WoTB? -  I dont think crates are good or bad for games.  They are a revenue stream for the gaming industry.

What's your stance on the crate system in blitz? - I think they are just about 'gambling', but I don't care.   I enjoy the occasional trip to the Casino to throw some dice or play 21.

Peace-

Boris

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

Like Cletus, I will spend a little on crates but I do so for all the other goodies that they provide and if I get the tank, it's a nice bonus.

If you have the money to spare its yours to waste. These crates are a little better then the ones they normally have since you can win gold but usually its either the tank or nothing. A lot of people buy crates, the upside is it allows  free to play and low end spending players. It depends on how you want to approach it, if your patient and wait for sales, grind events, and buy discount gold you can accumulate a nice collection of premiums. However, if you want the high tier, top end, and newest tanks you need to spend the big bucks mainly on crates. Personally I have never bought a crate and never would.

Hi Nonothic! Long time no see.

I don't usually spend money on the game period, but when I get a job I will probably be more willing to spend money on the game.

I bought the 3 crates for the price of 2 for each tank. Pulled the Helsing but no Dracula and I got a decent amount of gold/free xp. I got good value this time around but have been burnt hard on crates in the past. That is the nature of gambling.

I've spent 40$ on the dracula and helsing crates and did not get the tank. Did manage to get a hefty amount of gold and free XP.

I buy zero crates for money, as I don't gamble on virtual tanks. I do gamble real money if I'm in Vegas, but not for tanks.:playing:

I opened my free crates from the event and didn't win any tanks and didn't win the camo that I was hoping to get either.:justwait:

I spent a little (ok a lot) on the badger crates a while back - didn't get the beast and haven't bought a crate since.

Me and crates don't seem to agree - none of the crates from the Uprising event gave me either tank and back when the gimme crates used to gift you vehicles - I never got a single one in over 2 years....

Now I wait for special events and such to gather my vehicles of interest.

Can't wait to see what Black Friday brings this year!

Last night, looking at how much I have left to grind for the T95 and then how much it's gonna take to get the E3, I figured I would buy the $50 crate deal.

I either A, get the Drac and some free xp, etc. Or B, get some free xp, etc. Either way I'm walking away with free xp.

Well, after seven crates in, I turn to my wife in bed and say, "This was probably a waste of $50" and then BOOM, there she was. The almighty Drac staring at me. So pumped.

I then combined all of my free xp certs and was able to get 350k. Now I've been saving these but still, I received a bunch last night. I now have over 690K of free xp. Feels good.  :)

I do NOT buy crates. Zero zip nada. In any game. WG or otherwise.

I tried it once in WOTB, two crates each with gold and freexp, a few years back, when they had their first crate event. Got crap. Figured it was online gambling aimed to deplete people’s existing reserve of gold & freexp and getting kids to spend their holiday itunes / google play cards. Have not looked at crates since.

I don't spend money on crates. I'm not into gambling, especially for pixel tanks. I will spend money to buy tanks, that way I get to judge for myself if it is money well spent.

I don't think Blitz's crates have been tank-or-nothing for quite some time. It is clearly an attempt to avoid any existing or potential bans on "gambling" crates. Whether or not it will hold up to legal scrutiny is unknown to me, but I've been happy with all of my crate returns so far, regardless of whether or not I get the tank.

I am convinced that the more tanks you have, the lower your chance of getting a tank from a crate are. I did really well with crates at first then they seem to have went sour for me. And I on them. Once in a great while I will get a 3 for 1 special sort of thing, but otherwise I stay away from crates now. Especially the way there are constantly tanks going up for sale in the store now. To hell with crates. If I want a tank now Ill just wait.

I don't buy crates for straight money. Ever. Have never, will never.

Now, I have bought a few with gold that I had from events or earned elsewhere. I usually will only buy the 3 package one as it's the best deal if I am deciding to buy some crates.

Never met a premium I didn’t like (except the fake fantasy/clown crap) until crates came along. I enjoy spending money playing, it really bothers me these tanks aren’t for sale in addition to being in crates. Made me ratchet my spending back too.

I'll always throw a few coins their way for a special but the 1 crate deal is not a special and not for me.

The chances are too slim; however I did get my 1st tank in one of those specials. Most have come from daily crates.
