Thanks for putting this together Frostbite, will be helpful to go back to this thread for next year's event to compare and contrast.

Gold boxes are the best.   Full Disclosure, during the event I thought i was buying the 1500 gold box when I actually purchased the $20 20k gold box (only I had filled up half the box).  Doh!  In the middle of the purchase i realized it was the $19.99 box instead of the $1.99 box and tried to cancel.

Cru6, Ho-Ri crap, you went nuts.  Can you share how many globe drops you got from crates?  I spent about 1.5M free XP during the event to get my two event globes.   So about 30 free XP crates and I got zero globes from crates.   How many globes did you get from free xp boxes and how many from gold boxes?

I was really disappointed in that the T22 and Badger were sold right before the winter fair so were not put in the auction where we could use gold boxes to snatch up these tanks for a reasonable price.

I got all the 6 or 7 possible from the Event Grind.

So the rest came in Gold Boxes.

My wife got me a book for Christmas and I got her jewelry, I should have put another thousand into Blitz and I still would have gotten the raw end...

I definitely didn’t spend 500-700. Maybe the equivalent of that via ingame goods but not via real cash.  Considering I had all the tanks in the globes except the VK with the gold compensation I got from those I spent a total of $246 since I use amazon coins for gold and around 500k free xp and 14k gold I already had. Before the event I had 700k free xp And I now  have  700k so I made all of the free xp spent back from the game and crates. Before the event I had 14k gold and even with the purchase of the $20 crate I have 40k gold so I also came out ahead with gold by 6k I believe.

I did have multiple 100 snowflake gold crates and 50 snowflake free xp crates.

including the snow globes available in the event (5) I also got 7 from crates.

I spent less this year than I did in 2018 and that stupid Christmas tree.

So is the VK 90 going to be the rarest tank in Blitz?

Yeah, I'm back. Let's not make a big deal about this.

Looks like you are correct with there only being 112. I wonder how many bought their way to the level, and how many were lucky to get one in a snow globe?

Interesting Cru and Gav.  Looks like the gold crates has some meaningful globe drop rate.  In the event threads I’ve seen, I haven’t heard anyone getting a globe from a free XP crate.

I had about 1.7M in free XP before, used 1.5M.  I had tons of free XP boosters so I’ve gotten another 200k back using boosters during the x5 days.  I have another couple hundred free xp in certificates but saving to combine into that legendary certificate.

pretty much agree but let me add 2 things.

1. the balance of the event in my opinion is positive. Lot of free stuff, a tier 5 tank without spending 1$.

2. you are forgetting the crates using free exp.

An heavy player usually have a lot of free exp. (like myself).

Millions.

So I managed to get 5 globes....without spending a single dime....may be also because I got 20k gold in the 1st two globes that I re-invested buying crates. I was happy. It was a calculated risk because I knew that with moderate luck I would get back the value of 20k gold or more from the 3 globes. And i did (by the way getting the Vk in one of those).

The final globe's step was the only target possible from the beginning. Unless you wanted spend $200-300.

Decide if an event should reward who play a lot or not.

For me the answer is yes.

I'm sure that they will sell the Vk later at something around $100.

Do you think was even remotely possible to get it for free in an easy way and without luck ?

Forgot to mention while I bought gold crates with that gold from the 1st two I won 4 extra globes (don't blame me i usually don't get this luck), may be that helped a lot.

I have seen a lot of people getting extra globes from the crates so may be this time the odds were pretty good.

I honestly thought it was alright (other than the masses of noobs in battle but that’s every event). Everyone got a BT-SV and Pz V/IV for free. And tons of free small stuff. Camos, small amounts of gold, free xp, boosters etc. And if you had a bit of dedication, one free spin on the roulette wheel. Same as last year. Not bad for f2p people at all.

I saw some people saying it was impossible to get to the first globe for free and some even saying that about the Pz V/IV and I don’t see how. Wether they were just not playing enough battles or just losing way too much idk, but I got to the first  globe with like a week to spare on the event 100% for free. I didn’t even spend any free xp and I wasn’t even playing everyday. After that, I filled the last couple gold boxes and quit the event, just because I hate the play style that comes with masses of yoloing noobs cramming the queue trying to grind their hearts out as quickly as possible.

It was best for moderate spenders. Tons of discounted gold and tanks were available. I picked up 44k gold for 50 bucks, got 2 tier X premiums and still have leftover. They didn’t sell all the tanks I wanted. I thought they could have made a better selection for the auction, but that’s purely subjective. They still had a lot of good deals.

For hardcore collectors it sucked. The paywall in front of the VK 90 was insane, but it was the same last year with the T22 so no surprise there.

I did get lots of xp and credits, plus the PZ V/IV is a tank I like, though it feels during the event like it was too slow for many of the swarms.

I finally got enough xp to grind out the Tier X Progetto. (yay! right before the nerf!!)  :(

Only to then find out it costs 6.1 million credits (!!). I had spent a bunch of the credits i earned before that so I haven't been able to buy the tank yet. Probably I'll get it the day after nerfing.

But I thought the event was overall good. Could have been better if it wasn't impossible from the start - I only made it to the 1st snow globe.

The one exception I really didn't like was the Gold Boxes, they said they would refill them in the description, and WG never honored that.

You misread the description. It didn’t say that.

The auction gets a bad rating from me. I had gold from last years even to burn on a good tank. Alas I did not see one I wanted. Like a fool however I did buy the $20 gold bundle. Now nothing to spend it on as seemingly all good tanks I want come out for cash only.

Don't go to college English classes with this peeps.  outweigh

Unfortunately proper spelling and good diction don’t help you on the battlefield. Most people resort to cruder methods of communication.

PS. Didn’t spend any gold and didn’t partake of the event. Thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas.

That X5 holiday stretch paired with applying it to your chosen tank was fantastic. I didn't have any urgent tank grinds but *was* able to use it to finally- no gold- finish my crew skills after all these years. Just spammed my bats at tier 9 and 10. Pretty sweet.

Also, I think you should mention the ludicrous Shinobi offer for $100 with a year of premium time. That was right up there with the Fury offer in terms of insanity. I did a quick re-scan of the thread and didn’t see it.

Got the is3Defender from my first and only snowglobe for free. Which felt great since I played during the is3d event back in the day. Needless to say it feels right that I have received the tank
