Someday I'll buy a tank, find you guys and give you all rides.

That would be one hell of a memory.

It's unfortunate that they are not for sale.

This is your lucky day! For only ~$159,500 you could be the proud owner of your very own T - 34/85! Act now before someone else drives this beauty away! (Government approvals not included. Shipping and VAT may vary. Condition unknown).

If only I had $200,000-$300,000 lying around. Shipping is incredibly expensive, especially for an armored vehicle. Also where would I put it?

You would have to worry about the neighbors too. You know, big cannons and stuff.

I had a chance to tour Jacques Littlefield’s 200+ tank collection once. Really neat to see what a billionaire could do, but I think a few pixel premium’s are more in my price range.

You can't have an operational cannon in the US without a Destructive Devices Permit. I can own the tank, but the gun has to be demilitarized.

Very true, but most of your neighbors wouldn’t know that. There was a wheeled recon vehicle in Santa Cuz, CA for a while. According to the local paper the owner would sometimes work as a bill collector, tape the bill to the end of the cannon and pull up to the debtors front door. That probably worked until the local police got tired of the phone calls though.

One alternative to owning a tank is to volunteer at a museum or private collection. One of my brothers volunteered with Littlefield’s foundation while it existed and had a great time without all the expense.

Edit: changed “bothers” to “brothers”.  He’s only a part-time bother.

You know whats great about having a tank?

You don't have to go to the DMV to get plates for it!
