Somehow I've recently ended up with three premium mediums, all of which get rave reviews from various corners of Blitz-dom.  I've got the Progetto 46, the Panzer 58 Mutz, and the AMX CDC.  I should preface this with a disclaimer:  I suck at mediums.  I've always preferred heavies, although mediums can definitely be fun.  A couple of times I've put some effort into learning to drive mediums, but I've come no where close to my skill level in heavies.  I read the forums and I've seen videos, I know all the theory to being successful in meds, but I have a lot of trouble shooting on the move and my medium hull down game still needs work.  Feel free to look up my stats and laugh at my suckitude.  Anyway, it's a slow day on the forums so I figured I'd talk about my impressions of them, maybe some of our newer players could benefit from a non-unicum look at some of our premiums.

Progetto 46:  This tank is all about the auto-reload-er-er.  Disclaimer:  I don't have any of the tech tree autoloaders, so I don't know how it compares.  But I do know this reloader is awesome.  You have the capability to clip a tank with three shots and then you can shoot them again just a few seconds later.  So this thing can put out a good amount of damage pretty quickly.  And it also moves really well, it's decently fast and maneuverable, rarely feeling out of control.  It's not going to block a lot of shots, I'd like the turret to be a little harder, but that could push it to OP territory.  It's got 9 degrees of depression which is really nice.  All in all, I like this tank and I think I should be better with it.  According to Blitzstars it's got a 55% WR, and I'm rocking a 53% WR, although 30 day I'm a 40%er.  I've had some bad streaks lately though, I expect that to come back up pretty quickly.

Panzer 58 Mutz:  I think this is my favorite of the three.  People say it's a better Indien Panzer, although I've never had that one.  Other people have said it's pretty meh, which I don't disagree with.  To me, it's a swiss army knife, it seems to have the tools to do any job.  It's only got an average WR of 50% on blitzstars, but that sure does seem low to me.  It has 10 deg of depression, a pretty fast firing gun that seems to pen most of what I shoot at, it's not fast at all but it feels very solid.  The turret seems to generate some bounces, it also seems to have pretty decent hull armor for a medium.  After 30 battles I was at a sucky 37%, but last night I did much better in my 10 battles, raising it up to 47%.

AMX CDC:  I just got this thing, I've only got 4 battles in it.  It's fast, it's fun, it dies easily.  Even though I've just got it, I've played against it plenty, and it seems that it needs to keep moving to do well.  The gun was a pleasant surprise, it does better than I thought it would.  I don't think this is going to be a great tank for me because your best bet is to not stop and shoot them on the move, and I have trouble with that.  However, it seems to have a pretty high fun factor so I might end up falling in love with it.  Oh, and 4 games, 25% WR, it's got a 50% average.  Hopefully I get there.

"Remember the Alamo, remember Goliad" and tank with Vengeance!

Fun fact: There are 15 MBT in game already!

I am on the same path as you Cletus, I have never been fond of playing meds, but I just recently started plating them at tier 8.  With practice I have become just about competent in pub matches. When did you get the Progetto? The Pantera seems like it needs to be in your garage just for the name alone.

I’m a big fan of the Pz58, it’s my second highest tier 8 WR Med at 77.53 at 94 games.
The Prog8 is another good one.

As for the CDC, I had it originally - it’s had three buffs since I think I last played it - but I never enjoyed it honestly.

Bushka seems to think the Pz58 is just an OK tank, but the guy in the second replay seems to really make it work...

I think the Panzer 58 is the best one for me, but the Progetto 46 is a really strong contender.

Yeah, I agree.  But, I'm kind of over grinding tanks unless I really want one though, and the name isn't enough to make me put in work.  Besides, I have the Progetto.  I got it...oh was it in crates?  I don't remember, but I got it when it was released.

I just played horribly at lunch.  You always hear the new guys "I'm always top damage, but my WR is in negative territory."  That's me right now, I've had some good games, I just had a pretty good one in the CDC, but making a good game a win isn't happening for me.  The CDC seems like it could be pretty strong in the right hands, might want to give it a shot.

Bushka makes fantastic videos for beginners, but we don't see eye to eye on a lot of Blitz things.  Still, I get it, the Panzer 58 just isn't an exciting tank.  But it's reliable and steady.

It is much better now. That traverse buff really helped it and the gun is fantastic. If you have an exception, she would be worth it.

I’ve been playing my tier 8 mediums more too. I played my Mk 1 Defender in a tournament last night and I was just as effective as any of the heavies. When a clan mate of mine played his at the same time we wreaked a ridiculous amount of damage. They didn’t hold up quite as well against a team that was running 4 or 5 Tiger II but in all fairness to the Mk 1 the other team was a much more experienced team.

I have the AMX CDC and it can be an awesome tank when you have a like minded player looking to work together. I haven’t played mine in a while but I will definitely play it some today. The CDC needs a buddy on the battlefield to reach its full potential. If you get two buddies looking to work together it will be lights out for the red team.

Oh I still have it.  C6 doesn’t sell tanks
My biggest issue really comes from basically only playing unaced tanks.

I did not.  I generally forum when I'm "working," but I don't watch videos when I'm "working" because that would tip my neighbors off to how much I'm actually "working."

I really like the ravioli, and the progetto. And if it's a car I like that new Alfa Romeo giulia. CDC is fast, but man it is fragile, and big. Gun handling is not too great for it's speed. I hate stopping to shoot, and even then I gotta rock back and forth messing up my aim. Ravili is short and easy to tuck behind cover or peek out, and hits hard so less exposure, progetto is just ridiculous with the raw damage it can deal. Pz.58 rewards patient aimers unlike me.

I've managed to bring my WR for the Progetto 46 up to 56% 30 days.  My Mutz WR still sucks, I think I'm trying to use it's armor too much.  If I remember it's not a heavy, I'm pretty sure I can bring it up as well.  I've only played a few more games with the CDC, I'm still not worth much in it, I've been playing the other two a whole lot more.

You also must remember that tier 8 meds are some of the weakest tier for tier meds, so 56% in this meta is decent. I realized that after pulling 5k in tiger2

I'm honestly not to sure of myself in med tanks. I know that I'm not good in them and probably will not buy any prem meds unless they are obviously OP.

I got lights down, sort of. American heavies are what I do best in when driving HT's. Russian TD's going down the SU-152 I have a 56% WR in too. Soon as I have credits I'll be getting the SP IC as I already xp'ed it. Grinding the IJA line right now.

I do okay in lights, at what I want to do in lights.  What I mean is, when I drive a light I want to spot and I want to distract reds and get them to turn their turrets.  Those things translate to wins in a light.  And I think they are easier than meds, you can always run.

I typically drive heavies but occasionally I'll make a push for meds, I'll spend a couple of weeks or months just mainly driving meds and working on my medium game.  I haven't become "good" at meds yet but I've gotten better.  More importantly, it helps my game in other tank types.  The next time I drive my Tiger II, I'm going to think about what I did to beat a Tiger II in my Panzer 58.

I like this tank. Was averaging around 2k early on. I have now dropped down to the mid teens, but when played back early and looking for opportunities and spotting it works well.

It's a toss up between this and the Progetto. Totally different tanks. This one has good depression and will bounce some shots.

This one gets me in trouble. Don't do well in it. The problem is all of these tanks are on one of my kids accounts, and I wish I had them......
