I've been playing it a lot (got it back when the Lucky Crates were around, hope those come back) and it hasn't changed much, though I feel like the fire rate is more sluggish (16.8 seconds if I do recall, I use CS) and the armor isn't great, it's best feature is the gun, the Gun 15cm Smasher V2. its actually quite similar to the 152mm on the SU-152. honestly, unless played perfectly, the Lupus and Panther can easily kill a Smasher, no sweat.

It's not the lack of downsides that make the thing OP. It's the ridiculous ease that a bad player can carry a game with it while hitting stupid snapshots. It is easily #1 on blitzstars for WR and has a bigger lead on DPB than the gap between any other tank at its tier.

 

And hoo boy, are tier 7 tech tree tanks ever getting mauled by their premium counterparts. Woof.

I accidentally bought a single smasher crate when my finger slipped, best decision I’ve ever made in this game. As long as the player base continues to decline, the smasher will stay broke.

I just got the Smasher 2 days ago.

 

When you are not bottom tier, you can almost remove 1 red tank every 17 seconds. 

 

It's amazing how this tank can influence battles.  It's like no other tank I have played.

It's a KV-2 with less armor, more speed, less reload, 1 tier higher, and better looks.

Actually it has better armor, better dispersion, better aim time and better penetration on its HE and HEAT.

The issue is that it can do 545+ damage every single shot with practically guaranteed results. 

 

Low armor tank - HE for 1k please.

 

Med armor tank - AP for 640

 

Tier 8 Heavy - HEAT for 545

 

There is basically no tank that it sees that it can't fully pen with the right ammo. The fact that it can pen a Tiger 2 frontally as a lower tier heavy should tell you everything you need to know.

any tank can be garbage in the right hands. But not every tank can be OP in most of the playerbases hands.
