This one's a coolster.  And it did work fine, I can't really complain about it.  I think the clutch burned out because of the Bee Ess governor, the motor never got to wind up and fully disengage the clutch.  I've also got a Jeep that I need to spend some time and money on....mostly money.

Yeah, those clutches I think are like slippers or something. Kinda like a torque converter with fluid and not a belt, this is go kart TC not car which is fluid for those who are wondering.

I have played with the cvt belt torque converters some, they are cool.

half of this thread is not even about Tool. It's about engines and Chinese 4 wheelers.

I know that my 4 wheeler drama has been keeping everyone on edge for a while now, so I'll go ahead and post an update.  So I got the new battery, hooked it up, and got the same click when I tried to engage the starter.  This weekend I decided to swap the starter from the old engine to the new one.  I took starter off of the old engine and found that it was connected by chain, and in order to install it into the new engine I'd have to take half the engine apart to reconnect the chain.  So I took the internals out, took the internals out of the starter on the new engine, and did the swap.  That sounds easy, but it turned out to be plenty of work, although still easier than messing with that damn chain.  Anyway, after all that, turn the key, hit the starter button, and got the same click.  So I started messing with the wires and figured out the new connector to the starter was incorrect, plugged in the old one and voila, it started right up!  So the problem wasn't the battery or the starter, but just the dummy repair guy f'ing it up.  Anyway, woo-hoo, it's done!  I test drove it, it was fine.  Put my kid on it, the front sprocket immediately comes off.  It's got a retaining clip that I didn't reinstall properly....fixed that, told him to go have fun on it.  After about 10 mins, the engine wouldn't do much more than idle.  So I take off the fuel filter, find it's full of gunk.  Look in the tank, it's got some oily sludge collected on the bottom of it.  Where did that come from?  Anyway, I quit for the weekend.

Yesterday I took off the body shell and removed the gas tank.  I tried flushing it with gas but it wasn't very effective.  I flushed it out with water and got most of it out.  Flushed with gas twice, and left it out to dry.  So hopefully, maybe, I'll have it running this evening.  I'm afraid I'll need to take apart the carb next, but we'll see.

So when you flush a fuel system out with water, it will retain moisture and start to foul the ignition points. I would flush with alcohol or fuel de-icer. You should also replace the spark plug.

Yeah I know, but I didn't have any of that stuff.  Well, I might have some alcohol, I'll do that before I re-install.  I knew the water wasn't the right thing, but it's all I had to "pressure wash" inside the tank.  It has a brand new spark plug in it, part of the reinstall process will be to pull the plug and make sure it didn't get gunked.

Thanks for the good feedback, I knew I wasn't doing it exactly right.

Also, check the gap on your plug, those lawnmower plugs dont come pre gapped.
