you see, IRL, the IS-1 was mounted with a 85mm gun, later the IS-122 and IS-2 were mounted with 122mm guns.

The game does not aim to be historically accurate, things differ for game balance reasons, simplification has happened to not have needless guns that underperform, ... so “ need “ is highly subjective and relative.

If I remember correctly, it used to have an 85mm; it still does on PC. But it's kind of pointless because nobody's actually going to use it.

It was an IS-1 in 1943 during the battle of kursk before stalin slapped on upgrades of its turrent and gun which wouid be more effective to pen a tiger and panther but yea they shouid add a 85mm to also start some decaals to design your tank with or without camo like a Heer black cross or pin up gals and create your own tank numbers like irl
