Been playing the SU-152 for a while and I'm conflicted over which barrel to run, the T7 gun has better pen but does 240 less damage which is a big leap in damage. However when I run the T6 barrel its really hard to pen a lot of common heavy tanks in tier 7 (tiger P, IS, KV-3 T29... the list goes on) should I be prioritizing having enough pen to hit people or is damage a better deal. I've already researched the T7 gun so I can't really go back on that I just want to know whats going to give me better results.

The gun choice is in the name. It has no problems penning if you aim. Also more flanking to hit the sides is ideal. If you cant pen wou use HE which still does 300-400 damage, even when they are sidescraping.

152 all day - ammo selection is key. Your HEAT has insane pen and the HE is a great choice when AP won't pen and HEAT looks sketchy. Don't forget to use HE on lightly armored targets that you can pen.

WoT blitz is better than WoT PC imho because no arty and +/- 1 mm.

Run calibrated shells with the 152; you'll get great HE pen and ludicrous HEAT pen. AP is situational - it works well for the sides of heavies and mediums, as well as lightly armored tanks you can't pen with HE. HEAT is good for heavy armor; the 275 with CS will get you through everything. HE spam is for everything lightly armored, like RUs and Borsigs, or very thickly armored, like hull-down heavies. It also works for the sides and rears of most vehicles. You can also use it more liberally if you don't want to spam HEAT, or if you want to deal damage more consistently without RNG. Once you get good with the derp, the SU-152 is probably one of the most entertaining tanks in the game - I've had some crazy numbers in it and I'd pick it over the KV-2 any day of the week.

As a side note, the 122 guns aren't bad, and they're in fact the more reliable choice, but you haven't lived until you max roll for 1200 on HE.

ISU-122S exists for a reason. Use the stronk communist cannon or 122S would feel pointless and want to send you to gulag.
