Hello all:
In this thread I am going to be telling you my guesses on the Tier VI-X Swedish medium/heavy tank branch (what the tanks are, gun specs, and how to play them.) Hopefully I don't sound stupid
T6:Strv 74
n the early 1950s, the Centurion medium tank entered service in the Swedish army, yet a lighter and more maneuverable vehicle was required. It was decided to modernize the old Strv m/42 vehicles by equipping them with a new turret and armament. The tank received a new name, Strv 74. A total of 225 vehicles were manufactured from 1957 through 1960. The Swedish army continued to use the vehicle until the end of 1984.
The Strv 74 will probably play like many T6 mediums. The top gun has 148mm of penetration on it's standard rounds, and 200 on APCR. It will definitely have 160 alpha damage. It has good accuracy and aiming time, excellent gun depression angles, easy stock grind, and good dispersion and shell velocity. It will also have zero armor, not very high DPM, and rather tall profile. Overall, plays similar to most other Tier VI mediums with a good gun in terms of penetration and accuracy.
T7:Leo
In the late 1940s, Landsverk developed a series of tanks that were primarily intended for export. The Strv Leo medium tank was the heaviest in the series. The army took an interest in the project, but it did not offer considerable advantages over foreign peers that were available for purchase. Eventually, they favored another project.
The Leo has 3 guns. The first 2 are the same on the Strv 74, and he stock grind thus won't be terrible. The top gun is a 10cm which will probably have 280 alpha like the T-34-1, but at the cost of slightly less premium penetration, accuracy, and DPM/RoF. It has a high top speed, good gun depression, high alpha on the top gun, and the 2nd gun offers only slightly less penetration (148 compared to 155) with a much higher RoF and DPM similar to the Comet. Some small caliber guns can bounce the frontal plate. Thus, there are several ways to play it, either as a flanking medium like the T-43 or Comet, or as a more support vehicle like the T20. Overall, plays like a typical Tier VII medium with extra alpha for brawling or supporting.
T8:Emil I
A variant of the heavy tank developed for the Swedish army under the EMIL project in the 1950s. Design solutions used for the French AMX 13 tank influenced the project, which is obvious from the design of the turret. In 1951, a draft design was prepared, but development was discontinued in favor of later versions.
The Emil I has 2 guns, both 3-shot autoloaders similar to the AMX 50 100. Stock gun will probably have 310 alpha, with 179 mm of standard pen and 224 on premium. The top gun should also have 310 alpha, but the Emil 1951 on Blitzstars shows it having 320, so that could be a possibility as well. Penetration for the top gun is 217 on standard and 242 on premium.Pros include good burst damage, a thick turret, excellent gun depression, and unusually small for a heavy tank making it able to use cover more effectively. It has very thin side and rear armor (not good for side scraping) bad mobility and gun handling, poor view range, and poor turret traverse. The Emil 1 is a combination of strong ridge-line armour and a burst autoloader, the complete opposite of the AMX 50 100 and more akin to the T69's play style. The armour on flat ground is adequate against tier 8's and lower but especially when facing higher tiered tanks you always want to go somewhere where you can put your unique 12 degrees of gun depression and unhistorically thick armour to good auto ricochet angles.Overall, plays good as a ridgeline tank on hilly maps, and can support the big heavies in city maps. However, never show your sides and rear as they are very thin.
T9:Emil II (or "Mini" Ikea Wagon):A variant of the heavy tank developed under the project of 1949. In 1952, three heavy tank projects were proposed. The EMIL 1952 E2 was the second variant. Depending on the armor and mounted engine, the weight of the vehicle varied from 34 to 39 tons. However, at the end of 1952, development of the E2 version was discontinued in favor of the E3 version, which had similar characteristics but improved armor.
There are 2 guns on the Emil II. The first is the same as the Emil I, where the second is a 12cm autoRELOADER (not an autoloader like in WoT PC) with 3 shells. Damage is 400, and penetration is 252 on standard and 300 on premium. The turret is nearly impenetrable, and the tank has decent mobility, good gun depression, and an easy stock grind. The top gun has terrible DPM but isn't hampered by reloading a clip like the AMX 50 120. As with the Emil I, the hull armor is poor and the aiming time is long. It is best used at mid-range combat in hull-down positions where the hull is protected and the turret is the only part exposed. The turret is one of the strongest in the tier, and can easily bounce all standard and most premium shells. However, premium ammo from tier X destroyers and high calibre HE shells can and will get through, so beware.Hull armor is very weak and unreliable. The player must be aware of the hull exposure while being focused at anytime to maximize survival. Weak hull also makes this tank bad for brawling - after you empty your clip, you are basically dead, as everyone will pen you from any angle in the hull. The tank's mobility is average, but it is still mobile enough to get around and re-position wherever needed.
Overall, the,Emil II should be played as a support or on ridges, preferably with other tanks nearby. Fighting alone can lead to quick death as soon as enemies realize that you are reloading, so be cautious. Also be aware of artillery as they will punish you if you stay in focus for too long.
T10:Ikea Wagon (aka Kranvagn)
Stats are on blitzhangar, so I won't bother listing them here. Link is here:https://blitzhangar....n/tank/kranvagn
