Hey guys, I want to propose several changes. This is not formal, just my rant. Here we go.

 

1. Remove Armour Indicator for Ranked:

As a heavy driver, I hate this feature. It basically tells the enemy where to shoot since it highlights your weak spots. This shouldn't be in ranked because ranked is where players show off their skill, not relying on "allowed hacks" to win. Players should learn where to shoot in casual and use that knowledge in ranked. Some might say "this makes heavies op", but have you heard of gold spam? the 330mm to 400mm heat rounds already ignore armour. Besides, this proposed feature actually makes choosing between Cali or Rammer matter in the game. 

 

2. Rework Spawn location:

The current spawn locations are not bad, but some need to be improved. The current spawn locations force players to choose between the "heavy route" and "med route" because the spawn is not located with equal distance between these two routes. If heavies go the med route, they will be picked off halfway because it's so far away from spawn. if meds go the heavy route, they will face campers the whole time. I propose moving spawn points to the middle of the starting off area. This will make both routes equal distance from the spawn point. More variations in gameplay can occur if this simple change is made. For example, on Falls Creek, there's the TD HV bridge and Med city. If the spawn is moved along the longitude of the map, players can choose whether to go city or bridge. The current meta is HV and TD camp bridge while MD and LD flank the city. The map's center is completely avoided and rarely does anyone go near the river.  

It gets boring playing almost identical games on the same map. If players can choose where to push instead of being forced to by spawn location, a lot more playstyles will appear. 

 

3. Increase Module Damage for ranked:

Getting hit currently for ranked is too easy. People can drive around at full speed with multiple 152mm holes in their tank. Make modules much weaker so getting hit and memorizing module locations for each vehicle actually mean something. Right now, hitting below the turret and a pixel of the rear hull do almost the same thing. HP decrease. With this change, players can decide what to hit to incapacitate what vehicle. For example, aim at the engine for meds/lights, aim at the turret for heavies, aim at the ammo for tds. This will make the game more challenging and more rewarding for players who know vehicle layouts well. 

 

This is my rant for now. Tell me your thoughts on whether u agree or disagree and tell me why. My first post so be nice.

TBH, getting hit with a 150 cal cannon is gonna damage your modules pretty much independent of the location. Just ask the hellcat I nuked... damaged all his modules and injured the entire crew

 

 

 PLAYERS WITH  200 BATTLES  SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE A TIER 8 PREMIUM!!!

Frankly I think hit skins should be removed after tier 7 - but that is an entirely different story.

   Heavies do not need any more help in the Meta at the moment - and asking for that is beyond ridiculous, in rated or not.

Hit skins need to be removed. I love realistic just cause of no hit skins ( and other features of the mode). It gives a challenge to players and forces them to learn the armor profiles. 
 

Good job on your first forum post. I think it’s well constructed and your thought process is brilliant. :) Most of the new people here have made complaints and whining as their first post, so you are doing something right. I hope to see you in the future here.

hit skins: I would like it too (but honestly what will be the result thinking at hordes of players that can't even hit the target ? I mean simply hit the tank) obviously at the same time (because of the HT meta) we would need the re-balancing of all the Med and Light tanks

Complaining about prem pen when certain heavies are so buffed and without notable weak spots exist that prem spam is the only option. Telling people to flank an IS-4 does 0 good as mediums will still continue to bounce on the sides that are flat to them. There is no balance with a heavy meta. That is why over 90% of games are decided by where heavy vehicles end up and those that push through with their meds always end up winning. Heavy buffs make the game pointless.

The thing with hit skins is that good players can manipulate them. Therefore it’s kind of a rich get richer part of the game.

If you remove hit skins then a lot of people will use “illegal” mods to get hit skins, thus just giving those willing to cheat an advantage. As is, everyone is in the same boat. :harp:

JRod helped me develop a work around for who to shoot. Armor inspector is problematic so I listen close (with what’s left of my hearing) to YT vids when CC’s are talking where to aim. 
 

Maybe you could forward this question ? I notice in tourneys that blue is a team color. Why can’t this be brought to pub games. Blue/Orange option would be perfect.

Change the icons above the tanks so that reds have certain things above tanks while green has less. That way you can distinguish.

Teammates are easier to spot with different icons but I’ve never been able to utilize hit skins in Blitz like I do in WoT Console which has a color blind mode.
