I'm a noob but this tank is a monster IMO. Its already my best tank.
But I have one simple question.
Why doesn't our Panther have the armor side skirts?
Almost every photo/video I see of real ones has them on.

The Panther was one of the original tanks to be in the game. When WG first started the game, there were very few tanks that did have spaced armor, regardless of what they looked like in real life. More recently, lots of new tanks have been introduced with spaced armor, especially new premiums.

In real life there are tens if not hundreds of variants of tanks. The one in game is just one of them.

The German designers added protective skirt armor made from 4 mm soft steel to protect the visible 40 mm chassis side armor visible between the top of the track and below the pannier. It was believed this area would be vulnerable to penetration at close range by Soviet anti-tank rifles. The Schuerzen protective skirt armor was added starting in April 1943.

So then it is obvious, the tank in the game is from March of 1943
