Hello,

This is gonna be a super long post with basically every possible thing listed about this event, so if you don't care for the little details, just skip to the end for my TL;DR.

There's two parts to this event/sale. First, some disappointing news for free-to-play players: there is nothing for you if you don't pay. Squat. If you wanted to find out if there was anything to get for free, quick answer is zilch. To be fair, you weren't going to get any free hand-outs for any other Black Friday sale around the US anyways.

 

Now that we got that out of the way, the way this works is that you can choose to buy certain bundles with gold or cash at very discounted prices, and you get Coupons for every purchase. You can redeem those Coupons for your choice of add-ons to sweeten the deal.

Tank Sales for Gold
Purely my opinion.
 

Competitiveness:

Paid Bundles

Ok, all 3 paid bundles are pretty stonks. Up to you on which one to buy, but that 5 USD one is especially appealing. 30 days of premium account along with the gold for 5 bucks? Yeah, that's a great deal. Better yet, they're pretty cheap and you don't have to break the bank to get some value. IMO, the best part about this sale so far.
 

Black Boxes

If these crates were even remotely worth purchasing to any semi-sane person, I would go over the math and the drops. But I'm not going to, because these boxes are complete scams. Just FYI, it's roughly one in a million chance to get the best reward of a Tier 10 box, which drops 250k gold and 500k free xp. There aren't even close to that many players that actively play Blitz around the world. It's unlikely that even one person will get it around the entire globe.

 

So not only is the chance of getting the main prize, but the rewards for the Tier 1-9 boxes are absolute [edited]. You can get a Tier 9 box (1/250,000 chance) and still get a pathetic 3,000-10,000 gold and 1,000-25,000 free xp.

 

The last thing is that these boxes are EXPENSIVE. Once you run out of the one-deal promos, it's costing 2 dollars for a single [edited]box. It's a complete and utter travesty that WG has the gall to offer these scams. Honestly, I'm all for the free market but there needs to be legislation to block crap like this from being allowed to be sold.

TL;DR

- Best tanks to buy with gold are the T26E5 (5k gold) and Pz. IV S (1.5k gold)
- All the paid bundles are actually decent or maybe even...great? (in terms of value)
- Only way to get a serious amount of Coupons is to buy straight up gold bundles for cash
- Do NOT buy black boxes! They're complete scams.
- Just buy premium account time and maybe the Type 62 if you have extra coupons. Attempting to go for tanks past the Type 62 is a total waste.

I had a small amount of gold already and got the 4250 and the 2000.

That was enough to get the T26E5 and Pz. IV S and end up with more than 250 coupons to get the Type 62.

3 overall decent premiums for less than 20 US is better than the usual WG meh IMO.

So, for people saying 'meh', can you give an example of what you would prefer? Because multiple tier eight and tier 7 premium tanks available for 5000 gold or less is a pretty strong deal and not something you'll see echoed in the auction. And buying even one of those 5,000 gold tanks (all coming fully equipped) will give you almost a month of premium time. That's a heck of a lot better than the 20% off or whatever sale we got on all standard tech tree premiums last year. So I think you're fairly hopeless if you think there's something on the way that's better right now.

I picked up the Lorraine and the FV201 after spending about $16 on some of the bundles, mostly because it's nice to be a ridiculous wallet warrior.  I'm masterly debating with myself over what to spend the coupons on though.  The Skorpion is one of the biggest holes in my garage, but I've spent all the money I'm spending on black friday so that's not gonna happen.  I've got 320, I'm debating over more premium time or some research certs......
