I watched a video by QuickyBaby on WoT PC about two games, one in which he runs around in an EBR and another about sitting in a bush in a T-100LT. I wanted to know: do you guys play passive spotting ( sitting in a bush and let the spots flow in), or do an active role (running around close to the enemy keeping them lit up)? I personally like to go active and get as many of em lit up as fast as possible without dying in the process. You get up right to the enemy lines, and spot them before going back to your team to reset camo before heading back again to spot some more. So what do you guys do?

wot PC lights are completely different. Camo i far more important, the teams bigger, games go longer, meds are far stronger than lights in combat. So lights are primarily scouts. You just can't be a dedicated scout in blitz, you need everybody to be doing damage. Lights are just a subclass of mediums that have less armour and for some reason often better guns + speed.

You let other people take damage before doing your own. Just make sure that nobody is looking at you before you shoot or you get blapped and destroyed while trying to deal damage.

Best to light up the mediums and distract them before your mediums engage. Then you can run around and assist, and take out turret less TD's if you can.

"I like trains. Deal with it." I mostly play Tier VII and VIII-and am 80% F2P. (I need garage slots!)

Favorite light tank:LTTB, favorite medium:M26 Pershing, favorite heavy:VK 100.01 (P), favorite tank destroyer:SU-152

but all tanks are good if you know how to play them!

this, hehe

ive just started to play lights, currently playing from a distance, trying to maintain camo, then when I see a lone tank or the possibility of comming in from the rear I move. Currently can’t handle the speed, it’s hard to control um when constantly moving, and I end up in a bad spot. Like when your trying to reposition and your haulin [edited], take a shot into the tracks and ya spin 180 degrees stopped In the open, then toast.

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

Play them to their strengths. use mobility, spotting and camo. I depends on the tank you are playing though. like a t49 come close to an enemy tank, hit them and run away, or a FV301, spot, and then go second line.

At least the way i play lights. :)

I start out poorly, then play well for a bit, and later I remember my actual abilities and play poorly again.

@BorisBaddenov what happened with the No-Goodniks?  You gave up your clan of One?

Light tanks in Blitz are more like fast mediums that have no armor. Not a lot of maps allow for passive spotting, so active spotting is the way to go.
pretty fancy sig here don't ya think

I normally only commit to three things driving lights.

First I usually try to get some early spots in. It’s not essential to get a shot or two in so don’t be afraid to pull back immediately if you’re worried about being lit up. This allows the team to position themselves in case they’re half competent. If I can engage with no risk whatsoever, I rotate out immediately and decide to relocate accordingly.

Then I tend to hang back until there’s a time where I can provide an extra gun in a push. I can zoom in while the reds are focused on my teammates and hopefully save them a bit of hitpoints. Basically a support role but you can get behind them easier to provide a pincer. Essentially you play opportunistic until endgame.

Lastly if needed, you should’ve saved the majority of your hitpoints and you can go on a haywire chase if needed. Or you can swerve (or COD) through some reds and get some heads turning so the greens can shoot them up the rear.

Tends to work. But that’s just play style. There’s about 1000 precautions you need to take to not get nuked.

I yolo them.

Like hard yolo into red contact if not red spawn straight from battle start, usually on an engine boost.
however I’m still trying to win. I do it smart (sort of).
But life is boring enough to not be afraid of a video game.

lights are hard. But they don’t need to avoid contact. They just need to avoid being shot.

Immolate your hair and have fun.  Save thinking for exploits that deserve it.

To very important comments.

There was a thread on lights two days or so ago.

http://forum.wotblit...nk-to-learn-in/

and here  http://forum.wotblit...e-for-lts-meds/

Certain lights are more like meds (Brits/Russian), others super mobile TD's (American 8-10) and others being more Lights (Low tier American, and German/French).

Each has their own required play style - as while there as some common aspects, you can't play them cookie cutter, in the same way no other class can be successfully played cookie cutter.
