Way of the Raider event, Oct 19, Annihilator came at level 45, had to buy that pyroleum trailer to get there, and even then you weren’t able to complete the event without 2500 gold at the end. I’m thinking the trailer cost 10 bucks. Everyone could go to stage 16, but needed the trailer to progress.

My biggest problem with collector tanks like the Smasher is what is the point of making it a collector so you can nerf it without (large amounts of) backlash, if you're never going to nerf it in the first place?

Now I don't even see them much and they are just another tier 8 heavy. This will be the same way. You just need time to figure out how to play against them. The Smasher is another example, I don't worry too much when I see one.

i  actually killed a IS-3 defender a bit ago thinking it was just a normal IS-3

i also have had 0 issues killing annihilators, they dont tank HE well and their front is very easy to pen (the turret is strong, but HE still does decent damage to it)

LOL, I brought that up for that very reason. It was a, "oh, I remember those..." moment in the middle of a game.

I honestly have to agree with you guys. The annie has insane dpm and the potential burst damage is honestly just no. Not to mention how they have the enhanced speed booster that allows them to yolo to a certain spot and rain down havoc on your team. Its turrent is extremely thick too along with the extreme gun depression that allows them to hulldown easily. It is just as bad as the Emil I besides the fact you actually have a chance at shooting that tiny little cupola that's on the top of the turrent. If WG made the missiles an event time thing, why not with the annies? They are worse than the Smashers(yeh a smasher actually doesn't have the dpm to 1v1 an annie)

Economic Equilibrium

 

They are a business. Nerfing premiums is bad for business so the way they accomplish this is by the above.
 

1. Release a strong premium that requires some sort of investment. Break the equilibrium. 
2. Buff some tanks within the tier to narrow the gap and bring the impacted tiers closer to equilibrium. 
3. Buff the neighboring tiers in some way to finalize the recalibration of the equilibrium. 
    

the key is that they don’t ever fully equalize the tiers again. Just get them closer. Why? It allows then to release another tank to help equalize the previous tank and start the process all over.

Annihilator is just the new flavor of Smasher. I don’t have a Smasher and I truly hated the darn (edited) thing. Hated them for a long time. All battle long you had to look over your shoulder for the stupid thing. Now they have the Annihilator and I did get one. I would have to be stupid to say that it is anything but OP. WG needed to balance the Smasher but they needed to balance the missiles too and now a lot of folks are pissed about that.

 

They did a bad job balancing and now they need to nerf the crap out of both of them to get back any semblance of balance. Best thing to do for us is buy an Annihilator if they become available or wait for the “Destructor” which will dominate both of them and further destroy tier 7 balance. (Destructor was just a guess at a cool name for the next ridiculously OP tier 7 super tank)

ya, i ran into 1 like 3 times in the P43 Bis and every time it instantly removed 400hp, the tank is easy to kill in the KV-2, but its very hard to kill in tanks that need to aim and that have poor armor.

My guess is they put it in crates from here on out. They made this tank readily available at launch though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't appear again.
