Compared to the stock gun, the top gun has more DPM, 30 more alpha, and way better penetration... at the cost of having only 2 degrees of gun depression instead of the slightly more bearable 4 degrees that the stock gun has. I'm leaning towards the stock gun.

Top gun. 4 degrees is just as unusable as 2 degrees, they're basically the same - both having non-existent gun limits.

I found that with the LB-1C stock gun, I ended up firing far more premium ammo because of the 175mm of pen on the standard rounds--which in turn really dropped my dpm and overall damage output. Once I switched the D-54S, with its 219mm of pen, I felt like I could put out more damage and like the ceiling of what I could achieve with the SU-100M1 was higher. When I ground that tank, I tried to not free xp the top gun, but I found that I ended up really wanting to. Overall, I'm really glad I did eventually. I think I had more fun with the tank that way. My recommendation would be to go ahead and use the top gun if you can afford to unlock it :)

Good luck with the SU-100M1! :great:

It's not the RNG, the MM, the diameter of your shell, the thickness of your armor, or the number of premium rounds you carry that counts ultimately; it's the courage in your heart, the calmness in your mind, the hope and faith you have in your team, and the way you use what's at your disposal that truly determines Victory.
