Just had a fun experience. I was playing E75 , i was hulldown and there was a enemy  Emil 2 on the other side. Idk how but i raised by gun up , emil was  aiming for my cupola. There was a ding sound and woah! I absorbed the shot with my gun. I always do this now as an effective but dizzy way against low tier tanks that coulnt pen my turret plate.

Thus my e75 had a new nickname: lightsaber

Can't AP shells go through the gun and pen the cupola, damaging the gun module and subtracting hit points?

Nah. Strongest part of the Maus is the gun XD

This is common; the Grille has a huge gun with which to absorb HE shells.

Splash HE on the ground u can do 100 dmg

Splash HE on the tip of the gun, 0 dmg
