re: the thread title - yesterday.  things were just not going well... sometimes doing nothing and getting carried to a W is more frustrating than having a good battle and getting let down by teammates.

And that is kinda of the point.  Until the OP tanks are removed it's not really that fun to have work 3x as hard to carry a team in a "regular" tank.  Cru6 I think the bar is actually much higher now to Ace the Annie.  I think you need 5040 dmg in a match to even hit 10th place for HoF/Master these days.  People have actually gotten much wiser facing them and the MM magically appears to actually match Annie for Annie in almost every match while also placing the Annie in a T8 match 80% or so of the time.

 

It is surely fun to delete T8s in a T7 tank with near impunity...there is an old saying...it might even come from the D&D days of rolling a D20 with a Vorpal Sword against that Red Dragon  (nah I joke), "Exploit early, exploit often".  Until WG fixes their broken systems then there is no reason not use their broken tanks to break their game further.

This is why tank balance is so important- and honestly why I enjoy playing tier 9-10 way more than 7-8. 
 

You really can’t blame players for playing OP tanks, sure we can make fun or ridicule those who play thousands of games in them, but WG released them, and let people buy them, so it is truly WG’s fault.   
 

Personally I don’t think WG really cares about balance in 7 and below.  
 

Tier 8+ tanks get tested in Live Testing after Super Test, and 8-10 premiums and X ‘flagships’ from new lines are altered as a result of that.    I have only seen two tier 7 tanks go through live testing (T26E3 and T-44-85).  
  
Given that the Annihilator was clearly totally broken by paper stats, the fact it wasn’t live tested, now was the Smasher, gives me little hope that 7 and below will ever get looked at for balance in a serious way.

Well with all the actual bots today ( I mean actual players who have a spinning turret and is AFK) and AFKers in general...it's pretty frustrating today even playing OP tanks to try and carry.  6 out of 10 losses today have been because green had 1 afk and the matches were that close.  Lost my last 4 matches with 1 tank left on each team and mine is the afker.  Now conversely...I could guess the wins have been because of the same and the reds were afflicted with the afkers...

Either way..it's frustrating for either set of players.

Today was pretty frustrating.  Would have a team move forward, only to retreat at the sign of an enemy tank and camp.  Or a team that would scatter, let the enemy swarm them one by one and die.  My favorite by far was several allied tanks actually reversing into me and boxing me in due to their fear of an incoming enemy tank, yet not firing at the enemy tank.

 

Definitely done for today.

So I actually felt "bad" talking about clubbing and playing the Anni and all this talk about how "balanced" T10 is.  I tried out my Leo after having played 100's of battles in it during the event periods this last month and grinding it's crew.  I was again reminded how "balanced" T10 is with the dumbest most terrible players to be placed on Green 60% of the time and how it's impossible to carry a team in a "balanced" or weaker tank.  As usual with some of these tank you can only really rely on the MM odds and RNG luck to barely scrape by with 50% in most cases as a solo player.  When 3-4 people on your Green T10 team failed to break even 500 dmg....there is no "carry" in a normal balanced tank.

Granted...I did not platoon at T10 with the Leo and perhaps that might actually yield some better results..however..it still goes back to the heart of playing an OP tank and having to carry your matches 60% of time.

Even 2 Annihilators and 1 Smasher on Green and zero OP tanks on Red, if you're dealt a sh!t team, Red can still win. That happened to me yesterday.

Happened to me today as well..were we in the same game?  My green had 2 Annis and a Smasher...and the game wasn't even close to a "gg".  Today has been a straight 50% WR no matter what....maybe 10 games out of all the ones I have played were close games and well played by both sides.  The rest were blowouts win or lose resulting in 50%....and I know why!!!  I bought the FV201/AT15A combo yesterday and everything went into the crapper.  I had not bought a tanks from the store in months and was winning like Charlie Sheen...gave WG some $$ and boom...loserville for two days straight.

 

Don't go shorting my stock in Reynolds Wrap either!!!!

Just lately i seem to be regretting pressing battle quite a lot, every so often there’s a big intake of new players and this is one of those times, a team I’m on will lose really badly, I look at their stats and they’re all tier x players who’ve played 4000 games or less and have win rates below 47 percent. I’m only an average player myself, I can’t win games alone, so losing and watching my own win rate go down is hard to take.

I see your stats over the last week...easily 250+ damage/tier and not one day over 60% and with a very large number of games.

I can’t tell you how many 3k+ losses in tier 8 I’ve had recently with a much larger number of newer players who don’t seem to have a clue. The player base has already been bad, but it’s at a current low IMHO.

Maybe we were in the same game. I am terrible at looking at players' names when I am Awaiting Battle. Couldn't pull the trigger on that combo. Just doesn't seem very exciting to me. I did however, pull the trigger on that Ram II. First 5 games were all wins and I started thinking this is a tank that is impossible to lose with. Out of 12 games, I think I ended up with a 75% WR in that tank. It's a fun tank. Yesterday I played solo. First game in the Chimera was a win but then I followed up with 7 losses in a row. I stopped playing if I don't have another good player to toon with. At least I know that there will be at least one other good player on the team.
