Oh the Anni is undeniably broken... But the teams last night absolutely deserved the Anni toon lashing we unleashed upon them.  No mercy ever again.

That makes absolutely zero sense.

Did you happen to see the teams that were playing from 8pm to 10pm eastern?

 

I was happy to play some light tanks in Supremecy, but the Greens were determined to camp spawn or camp town and I couldn't string two wins together to save my life.

 

That's when the Anni rage kicked in and I went God mode on them.

 

Every ammo rack I hit was well deserved. And I don't feel dirty at all.

I’m with Ronnie. I played a bunch of games during the day yesterday and was running a 33% winrate. Camping heavies, meds going town, failtoons, you name it. In three games my team was down two tanks within 45 secs....45 secs. 

 

At this point, I’m doing what I need to do to win. If it means spamming 40+ games in the T54E2, running a Smasher toon, etc, I’m doing it. 

 

I know you see it Cru. It’s gotten much harder to win across all the tiers, especially playing solo and with what the teams are doing, you can’t even use them as meat shields to farm off red and give yourself a chance. 

 

Lastly, it isn’t happenstance that WG released that new player video recently. I’d put good money that they see something in the numbers that caused them to do so. I’m sure if they look at their heat maps they probably see areas with more activity than normal and if they dig into the numbers, they probably notice a trend that the players in those areas are very new, very bad, and very solo. Did anyone catch that they specifically called out to go with the team? There’s a reason for that.

I think that the Annihilator gets people in trouble when they push forward against a single contact and remaining enemies can push in on the anni’s flanks-an error of overconfidence or overextension. Otherwise I think a fair number of games the MM puts anni toons against other annis and smashers so that hopefully the four of them just smack into each other like a bunch of elephant seals and I can go about my business. 
 

The anni’s turret rotation rate is still insane though, it’s still hard to get used to for me. Even if I can get past the gun barrel(s) with some high bearing rate moves, I am surprised at how much less time I have to convert that open moment into something productive before the gun is trained back on me.

The smart Anni toon runs with the mediums and demolishes that flank.  Duking it out with the heavies and losing your HP only to have a med or two come up to finish you off is a brain dead move.

Edit..... After looking, its better than any tier 8 AVG damage wise.  Ooooffff, it's broken

I will definitely try this.  Does shooting this area and penning only work with big guns or will most guns pen this area?  I have a really hard time knowing where to shoot and pen Annihiliators.
