Maybe I worry about stupid stuff. But oh well this is just a game, so we can discuss stupid stuff and still have fun doing so. Right?
 

Recently, I’ve been debating whether I should only drive TECH TREE Premiums (T34, IS-6, etc) in order to grind credits (how else can you play tier x without going broke). Why? I’m just not sure I want my stats built on “OP” tanks.
 

*Whether or not they’re truly OP is a separate discussion. Even if they’re PERCEIVED as OP, I feel it discredits my stats and progress in the game. 
 

For example, I recently got thrown some hate in a battle for driving the Chimera. “Get that fk OP tank outta here” or something along those lines. Annihilator is clearly overcooked. I could drive and win easily most of the time in that, and earn credits. But that doesn’t really show I’ve become an ace tanker, now does it?

 

Thoughts?   T34, IS-6, Löwe, FCM 50t...  OR   Action X, Shark, Chimera, Anni, WZ-120-1G FT...?

 

*As a side note, part of me wants to justify driving “easy” tanks, just because I waited to long to really focus on “getting gud” and it’s hard to fix stats after 10k battles (career WR is still below 50%). Even so, the other part of me wants to earn it “the right way,” if there is such a thing.

They say that there op but they forget that the tank might encounter a unfavorable match also you forgot the mod 1 T-54 and the TP 50 prototyp.

I shamelessly spammed 1k games in the WZ-120-1G FT this past year. That's just the most egregious example. You can always get good later, and you'll probably want to if you wanna live up to your career stats. Eventually you'll lose interest in the OP monsters and look to other tanks. Just gonna let your winrate plummet? No, you're gonna want to prove yourself. Winrate is considerably harder to move later in the career if it's important to you.

What are you talking about? I’ve moved my WR up a tenth of a percent over the past year!  59.7% to 59.8% like it was nuthin’.

Just drive what you like; stats be damned! Nobody looks at your WR and does the algebra to figure out how you got there. Besides, OP tanks are only OP in a skilled players hands.

This is pretty easy.

 

Write a list of the top 3-5 things that bring you joy or challenge in the game. As long as you aren't intentionally sabotaging 13 other players' ability to enjoy their 'top 3-5 things', then do whatever.

For me personally, I find no enjoyment in playing OP tanks. It feels bland and empty; there's no challenge at all.

Just my personal experience with driving OP tanks.

The game is more fun when you win 50%+ of battles.

You only make extra credits when you win (and have premium time, and drive a tank with a good coefficient).

The old premium staple tanks have been power crept, as they're now surrounded by a few OP premiums in tier VII VIII and IX. 

So, if you want to have fun, stand a better chance of winning and make credits in the process ... and keep WR stable or moving up; then don't worry about how many battles you end up having in which tanks.

If there were true OP/Broken tanks in the game, than anyone could drive them and easily get at least a 50%+ WR, no matter your skill ratio. But-like TT-these so called OP tanks are only OP in the hands of good players. Yes, they are much stronger than most TT tanks, but I wouldn't call them OP or Broken. Annih, now......that I could call broken...

I never got the Smasher but now I have an Annihilator so my goal in life is to troll tier VII and crush every smasher in the game until they feel insignificant...yeah, I've got daddy issues.

I drove the Jackson for 500 games when it was junk.  And had a way under .500 losing record in it.

 

When they buffed it and made it OP you can bet I played that mother ...

Now you should feel shame if you play more than 100 games in the Annihilator if it’s already aced.

Yeah, I say pretty much play what you want.  There is a big difference in spamming the chimera and spamming the anni though.  I feel a lot prouder winning in something like a prog 46 than I do in an anni.
