Hello ladies and gentleman and welcome back to World Of Crates Blitz or Crates Simulator, in this episode WG gonna make an abooz of Crates sending a Turtle Mk. I in a crate lol 

 

 "Turtle Mk. I Container"
 "Includes the Turtle Mk. I, a Tier VIII Premium tank destroyer, with a 4% drop chance or random rewards:
• 2 Common rewards and parts of the certificate for 1h of Premium Account with a 50% drop chance
• 2 Rare rewards and parts of the certificate for 9h of Premium Account with a 35% drop chance
• 2 Epic rewards and parts of the certificate for 1d of Premium Account with an 11% drop chance

Each container has a 100% chance of dropping a Turtle Mk. I Charm."

"Turtle Mk. I Charm"
"Currency for receiving the Turtle Mk. I tank destroyer."
• Each time you open a container, you get a Turtle Mk. I Charm.
• After you have collected (???) Charms, you will get the Turtle Mk. I upon opening a container.

Well, they did nerf the poor thing into oblivion, so I was already hesitant to part with my money for it. Now it's a sealed deal.

Better these tanks to be weak and have room for buffs, then broken and never nerfed. The Garborator is a prime example of a tank they should really have put some effort into testing before release. I'd prefer these crate tanks be underpowered then overpowered.

Maybe then when little Johnny gets his hands on an underpowered crate tank, he'll think "Huh, maybe crates aren't good, let's never buy them again."

Lucky crates have arguably been the only successful crates implemented in blitz, and even then, there are plenty who will disagree (with a valid reason, I might add).

 

And if the AT line taught us anything, this thing will likely suffer bad as well.

At the beginning of its launch it was scary, but now not anymore, at least some could have the Badger baby xd

Sticking that hunk of junk in crates is just sad. I can already see every Blitz YouTuber with “Don’t buy” titles on their videos. It will probably end up in some 5000 gold pop up offer in the near future anyway.

No one should be shocked that this is coming first in crates.  
    WG’s business models for premiums at 7 and higher is a first release in crates for $

 

It was viciously hammered by the nerf bat after testing as well.

I am unapologetically (mostly) not a crate hater. Charge me $10 (or whatever) for a published chance to win it, give me a tank charm if I miss and $10 worth of value and I’m good. These tanks all become available eventually. I get some are against the gambling aspect and I respect that. For me: no one needs a tank as it first comes out. It’s a luxury in an already profligate hobby.

I don’t like crates - mainly because a game that is for 12+ to me shouldn’t have gambling aspects. 
    That said, I understand it’s a very profitable system for WG and until either significant public opinion turns against them (meaning few buy crates) or legislative action by governments (and I dislike that option) occurs - WG is going to continue this business model. 
 

To me, parents should be educating their children to the aspects of crate/loot box gambling - and make them see that the instant gratification from crates isn’t likely to be ‘worth it’. That said pixel value is in the eye of the purchaser - and so it’s up to the individual to determine if it’s desired or not.

I'm solidly against gambling and crates because the chances are extremely poor and this game - like many others - is played by minors. If a person is 21 and wants travel to Las Vegas or the  nearest Casino and try to have a good time, go ahead.  Having it in the hands of kids, in their home, tied to their parents credit card ... not so much. And it isn't just one event, it is event after event after event, with artificial scarcity, drummed up " you got to have the next toy ", ...   Lots of lessons for parents to teach their kids and obstacles to put in place as far as screen time, in app purchases, etc.

I can appreciate both sides to the discussion. I'm with Boris that as long as the odds are stated, there are charms, and there are other items dropped (gold, free XP, etc), then I can go into it understanding what the cost is. I.e. - I'll determine the cost of getting the tank based on the number of charms and if I get the tank prior to that in one of the crates, it's a win. For the newer, more expensive items that I don't want to go all out on, I'm ok with the gambling aspect of putting in $5-$10 for a 15-25% chance of getting the tank.

 

That said, I can also appreciate that for many, crates are straight up gambling and given that there are lot of kids that play the game, it can certainly lead to bad habits. Yes, it is the parent's responsibility to teach their kids what this means, but the reality is that many do not. 

 

Lastly, from WG's standpoint, I absolutely understand the benefit. Crates are great revenue drivers, create a degree of scarcity and allow non-whales to have the opportunity to get shiny new tanks without dropping a ton of cash.

They have to make money, or none of this goes on.

They wouldn't do the crates if they weren't a money maker for them.

I do think there are smarter ways you and I can give Wg money without buying a crate.

I don't see gold on the list of rewards. Does that indicate these crates will be sold for gold?
