Hi all,

Haven't posted a topic to the forums in a while; but I thought the forum's been lacking some good constructive topics, so I'm here to make one.

 

Basically, this guide is going to teach you some basic maneuvers that you can apply in battle to win your battles on a local level, no matter where they might be. Learning to win fights is just as important as your rotations, so listen up.

 

Lesson 1: Basic pushing

 So many tankers don't do this, and it's why you see you and your teammates losing fights where you have a clear advantage. Push past your enemy. Do not just roll out of your cover, only to sit in front of them. By drive along their sides, you get easy penetrating shots, and often force the enemy to turn their turrets, making it easier for your allies to pen their shots as well

 

Lesson 2: Fighting around a corner

 Ok, so the enemy isn't always going to be an easy push. If you find yourself facing down enemies in a corridor, Pull back from the corner as much as you can, fade, then drive full speed across the gap to open up a second angle (This gives the enemy the least chance to hit you while you're in the open). This creates a local crossfire, which can be difficult for slower heavies to deal with, allowing you to peek when they're not paying attention. When you're pulling back, go as much as you can so that you have space to accelerate to get across the gap.

 

Lesson 3: Avoiding facehugs

 So, lots of noobs will try to facehug you. They want to reduce fights down to a battle of RNG.Unless you're in something like a 60tp, IS-7, or something like that, this is not something we're interested in. Better to remove the RNG element and make them regret the decision to get into close combat

 

Lesson 4: Getting tanks off your rear (turretless TDs)

 So, I'm just going to assume most of you already know how to get tanks off your side in a turretless vehicle using a wall. But what about the dreaded scenario where the enemy is actually hugging your rear?

This is very good advice. The diagrams help us "slower" tanker's understand. Please continue to add on to this when you can. Thank you.

Even though the people who need to read this aren't on these forums, its still a good refresher for more experienced folks.

If you ever wanted to make a video showing these tactics , happy to jump in a training room so you can get content.  Happy to be an adjunct professor for blitz university.   More like grad student teaching assistant, an old one.

might i suggest working with CC's and ACTUAL PLAYERS to create tutorials for the game published by WG, I don't know how many times I've thought this was needed. 

 

Learning isn't hard, the biggest problem is new players either 

 

a) don't bother to accept or seek help 

 

b) cannot easily find help

 

While there is no solution to the first reason, creating useful, helpful tutorials created by players, for players, would help A LOT for the good of this game. Wargaming should step up their game and collaborate for tutorials that will help a lot.

 

I don't know how many times this has been suggested, but if you could forward this to ANYONE at WG who has an interest in this it would be fantastic. Getting prominent CC's and influencers to collab for the good of the playerbase is always good.

 

At the very least, put links to Fatness streams in random places for new players.

I would like to add on that when hulldown, make sure to move your tank back and forth perpendicular to the enemy’s line of sight. effective in any tank except non turreted tanks
