Never upset at free stuff for consistent play, but it loses some pop with the gold nuggets not being able to be combined for gold.

Missed opportunity. WG should have added a gold forge as part of the event. If you dont want any of the rewards you can just exchange the gold nuggets for gold.

5 nuggets for 1 gold perhaps? 

I'm shooting for the M41, but we'll see if I can balance grinding the event and playing on the open test server.

I have both tanks. IMO kinda stupid that American tanks weren't selected for the event. when did a gold rush ever happen in china???

It was in 1849 when 250,000 Chinese immigrants left China to come here for the gold mountains.  They comprised about 1/5 of the population in San Francisco at the time.

Actually you having fun with this event. If the team doesn't show promise within the 1st minute and a 1/2. I give up and die immediately, Then move on to the next battle. Less frustration. already working on the camouflage. It seems to be working well. Thanks WG.

Thank god Tier IV is in the event. As somebody who actually enjoys seal clubbing, this event will be a breeze. I can usually get Mastery 2s in Tier IV.

The Chinese did make up a good portion of labor during the Gold Rush era. I had someone make a comment on a ride I used to work (Calico Mine Ride) saying they didn’t understand why they had Chinese miners. 
 

They were treated poorly compared to the other miners (who were not treated fantastic to start with). Many towns shunned them and forced them to live in shanty towns on the outskirts of whatever town they were at. They also made up a good portion of the labor during the railroad construction. Lotta Chinese workers died blasting tunnels for both the railroads and in the mines. A ghost town by the name of Cerro Gordo has an entire stope in one of their mineshafts that’s collapsed trapping some 30 or so Chinese miners in there. The bodies were never recovered and remain there to this day.
