Cool, Beach. Thanks for the link. Can anyone confirm this is legit? If so that would be a lot easier than going through the Emu4ios store.

Try again. I know Shou has been down recently, but many have reported it's back up and running. If you can't install it from Emu4ios, then try from the link found in the first page of this thread.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
I don't know how or why, but today the direct link to Shou worked just fine, downloaded with no problems. Previous days were a bust. I can also confirm that the link is good and valid, I just got Shou and it appears to be working fine.
Now to try an actual recording!

mine also. Assistive Touch is on, and Reduce Transparency is off. (Do you actually do anything with the Assistive Touch?)
Im going to go do some googling and see what I can find.

I do have a question though. I want to add text commentary/comedic captions to my videos.
How can I do this? I mean, I want the text to be movable and such, so say if something funny happens, I put in the words, "LOL" and shake it around epileptic like. Any ideas or tips?
You can add text in iMovie. The best way to do this is to cut the video where you want the text and cut it again slightly after that point, giving you about a five second clip. Insert the text in that small clip. Otherwise, the text will remain throughout the entire length of the video.
As far as shake effects, you'll have to use another program for that.
Not sure, dude. If you have assistive touch on it should be good to go. When you watch the replay back, does the video of your homescreen come up? Or is that blank too?

Same here, and Google only returns a bazillion hits telling me to turn on assistive touch. Still digging, though.

Is there a way to capture without using shou.tv or emu4ios?
I got a warning that the apps were both untrusted. Shou.tv is registered in Bejing, China and emu4ios IP is registered in Singapore.

Getting black screened videos as well. What's weird though is that Shou shows up fine and when you switch to the other app, it shows completely black EXCEPT for any overlay controls used by the app. For example, I switched to the IMBD app and recorded a video to see what what happen and while the video and audio of the movie did not display, the overlayed movie controls did show. Very weird. So it's partially seeing the other app to some degree.
Enabling Assistive Touch and ensuring Reduce Transparency is Off (it is by default) does nothing. I've also heard this problem is primarily on older iPad (2nd & 3rd Gen).
If you have a 3rd Gen iPad and you've got Shou working, please let me know. Also indicate which version of Shou you're using (found under More). Oh, I'd also like to know the Record settings you're using (all of them, even home button placement).
I still feel this is due to some unrelated setting.

I think Shou TV is having some issue currently based on their twitter feed.
I know I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I try.

Alright guys. Shou is back in business.
The trick is to install Shou.TV first, then AirShou.
If you follow the install link, it will make you will install Airshou first, then Shou.TV.
Delete both and reinstall Shou.tv, then Airshou. You will know that it is correct by the Device Management settings. If done correctly, you will only need to trust one app, however if you do it the default method you will have to trust two apps AND it won't work.

Thanks for the instrucional video thunderthies, very helpful.
Quick question. How do you get the circles that show where you are touching the screen? See this on bushka, m16 etc videos and can't figure out how this is done.

This is an old feature that had to be enabled for Shou.tv back in the day "assistive touch". Withou this switched on the screen would not record.
It showed where the fingers were going on the screen at any point in time.

The airshou recordings will not let you fast forward or skip ahead/back. You need to export it to 1080p first then you can edit it to your hearts desire.

you cant get audio like that. It records through teh mic and through the mic only which by definition is external. The shou.tv guy mentioned this was something they were looking at in the future but it's a bit of a pipe dream imo.
