Free XP'd my way to the Matilda and so far it's not bad...but  it's not good either. Everything is stock and i'm trying to decide on what to upgrade. Part of me wants to get the engine, but the gun is just...ugh...

So what should I focus on first with this tiny KV killer?

Thanks guys!

It takes like 4000 xP to max it. Just be top gun then go from there

The 2-pdr is insane. 121 AP pen at Tier 4 with 23 rounds per minute is sick. The Matilda will make Hetzers cry.

Tier Xs (in order of unlocking): T110E5, M48 Patton, T-62A, IS-7, E50M, IS-4, FV4202, T110E3, FV215b, Obj. 268, T110E4, Leopard 1, Obj. 140, STB-1, Obj. 263, T57 Heavy, AMX 50B, Bat Chat 25t

Most played tank: T-62A (3,100 battles)

Get the gun with the highest RoF, then add gun rammer to it.  Damage may not be astounding, but with the RoF and insane penetration that thing is awesome.  I've been playing it on the desktop version.

I'm crying after Cromwell and Comet grinds (((

It was fun though to punch Hetzers in the face to death and see them being quite surprised. Overall it seems that Matilda is a good addition to its tier that makes the mix more balanced.

It's a good counter to the threat hetzers cause in that tier...besides the M3 Lee that is....and it can hold its own against multiple enemies unlike the lee that doesn't have functioning turret and has paper rear armor

Have to say that I still prefer the B2, largely due to mobility.  Did have a 6 kill, 1700 damage game on the Matilda this morning though to get an ace badge(1400+ exp with premium, 900+ without).

This tank is way too good for its tier. Literally nothing can get through to it. Just saw 'Tilda 6 kill her way through a game with full hp.

I couldn't fall in love with the Matilda.  Sold it.  Just too slow to my liking.   The high ROF gun was great, but you have to peck them to death.

Also, it wasn't bouncing as many shots as I thought it should, so it's possible folks are already switching to premium ammo when they see it.

would it also beat a Duck Pz 1on1 in a head-on combat?

Although, Duck Pz outmaneuvers Matilda, which is an advantage if used correctly

You go bankrupt having to fire nothing but gold from a B2 at one, no matter if you win or lose, losing just means taking a total beating in credits and W/L as a double negative "bonus".

Gun first, engine second, then turret , track last.

There are so many Matildas out there right now.  You need to top gun ASAP to pen them.  Otherwise you will be spamming too much gold.

But it doesn't really matter either way.  You will be fully upgraded, or close to by around the 10-15 game mark (or even earlier if you have a really good game or two)

Alpha is low, but you got great armour, so you can just stay exposed and pew pew pew away.

Covenators, A20s, DWs etc essentially can't pen you.  A lot of other tanks will bounce.  The only dangerous ones are the TDs and Lees.  So you stay close to your TDs and tier 4s, stay slightly behind and play a supporting role.  When the TDs are gone, you can then just go around and wreck havoc.  Just remember to cover your butt.  Its essentially a T95 against these Tier 4 lights, except with a turret.

I spam gold from the B2 all the time.  The credit is still flowing in nicely with a standard account.
