What is Seal Clubbing?

Seal Clubbing - v. - to go into a low tier battle and absoulutely destroy the enemy with an overpowered tank (usually that has a derp gun). For example, the T18 with the 75mm M1A1 Howitzer.

More seal clubbing tanks:

British Cruiser tanks with a howitzer or Pom-Pom

T82

Leichtractor (did I spell that right?)

M4 (with derp gun)

KV-1

T18

Hetzer

Matilda

T1 Cunningham

etc, etc...

I love my T1 Cunningham as a seal-clubber...the 37mm Browning does an amazing job of wrecking the enemy. I love the fact that it is basically an autoloader.

I think I may possibly have seen the first user who fits that "seal clubber" definition more than anybody.

I was one shotted in the lowerst tier
(bonus weekend, riding the little ones till victory to get free xp and silver up a bit, V & especially the VI are getting to be quite expensive buggers!)
Summary comes.
Click through to profile of my killer:

- more games played than anybody in the forum (afaik)
- sky high personal rating
excellent victory rating
more valuable medals in that single row than I've even played battles
... and you know there's some experts online with a lot of games and notches on their belt, great personal ratings, victory rates etc ...
So, now I really have to click through to see his garage and a few of his numbers ... and, eh,
guess what?

75% of ALL games in the lowest tier with the first American TD you can get.
It was the only thing holding up the numbers

Possibly gathering silver for a gold ammo habit and maybe saving for a V or VI. I just thought it was
:(

There are a few like that. Some people just prefer to putz around the low tiers in an OP vehicle and never move up the tech tree. I remember one player with around 2,500 battles in their T18 and almost nothing else.

Might be the same person, but now you have to multiply that 2500 T18 battles number a few times (and not just double or triple it)

Just a thought.  Do you play the game because you like building a big garage of tanks?  Or do you play because you like blowing up tanks?  Therein lies the motivation for playing lower tier OP tanks, other than credit grinding.

75mm howitzer sucks considering the fact that it cannot one-shot destroy a T82.
T82+105mm all the way.
Also, Marder should be added too. It has amazing alpha.

The Russian T46 with 76mm and HEAT...  AT-1 with 76mm and HEAT (one-shot kills on most Tier-I tanks)... and Cruiser-III with 40mm pom-pom come to mind. The new Pz S35 can be a kitten killer, too. For the middle tiers, Ram-2 (surprisingly) and T-150 are real bullies...

I have three Tier-X mediums,  two IX heavies, and half a dozen VIIIs - these are the most beloved, but doing Tier-II and III battles can be really fun, and help build good statistics. Beginning players are unpredictable, though - they show up in the 'wrong' place unexpectedly, and can kill you. Also, you may kill 4 or 5 - but find your last teammate doing circles on a hill, trembling in a corner, or otherwise unable to finish an 'easy' victory, so even a 'sure thing' doesn't always work...

I have to get this off my chest. I have an exceptional win rate in the t18, for me, anyway, and I do pretty well with all my American TDs, so I thought, "I'll get a Hetzer!" Over the weekend, starting at tier 2, I ground my way up to the Hetzer, and fully upgraded it. Yeah, Nope. My win rate is abysmal. Marder II is even worse. I feel much more like the seal than the club. I just die over and over. Many of my games I was low tier, but still. I remember the Hetzer being crazy op, both in gun and frontal armor, when I was facing it back in my noobish days, but I just keep getting [edited]slapped in the damn thing. :arta:
