Guys, this is super easy. You only have to add one quick step to the process if you're using Imgur. Make sure you are on the full desktop site, not the mobile version (the desktop site works fine on iPhones and iPads, and I would imagine android devices as well). When you select your pic to upload, check the "edit" box. After the image uploads, it will take you to the editor. Hit the "Advanced" tab, then select the "Blemish" tool. Then run your finger back and forth across any names you want to make unreadable. Then hit save. It only takes a few seconds.

Edit: Here's what it looks like. This literally took seconds, and was all done on Imgur:

I have to admit, this is going to consume a lot more of my time than previously, now that I have to:

  • transfer photo to drive from iPad,
  • download from drive on computer,
  • edit,
  • upload to drive again,
  • download from drive on iPad,
  • sign in to tinypic on iPad,
  • upload to tinypic on iPad,
  • copy url,
  • post on forums.

Tell me that that is not too much work to upload a single photo.:sceptic:

Get the Imgupr app on the AppStore. It's free

Upload pic from camera roll to Imgupr

Click on link

On the imgur website, click the "open image in new tab"

Copy url

You can also use "Blur Effect", it's  in the App Store. Drop dead easy, took far less time to blur  than it does to upload tinypic and cut/paste

It is.  So don't make it more complicated than it has to be

  • Transfer photo to PC
  • edit using MS Paint
  • upload directly to tinypic from PC

Or this:

  • download one of the editing apps named above
  • edit using that app on iPad
  • upload to tinypic

Hah! That's nothing. This is how I upload images to the forums!

  • Take screenshot
  • Save to drive
    • Crap, I deleted the Google Drive app a while ago! Gotta redownload it.
  • Save to drive
  • Go to PC
  • Fire up Chrome.
    • "Unable to open image file with this extension"
  • Time to search the Ubuntu repository for the correct library
  • sudo apt-get install all the libraries!!
  • Still not the right library
    • Search for the right .deb file needed to open file
    • They're all for 32 bit Ubuntu
      • Download 32-bit compatibility libraries to run the library to open the image
  • "lol, this package requires the reinstallation of your desktop manager!'
    • Sure, why not?
      • Reboot needed
        • After reboot, you find that your desktop has fallen back to Openbox, and you are stuck in a login loop. Oops.
  • Now have to open tty1 and use the console to fix messed up desktop manager
  • after many parsings of the commands 'cd', 'ls', 'nano' and 'sudo apt-get', system works for the most part.
  • Open image file
    • Turns out, I only have the default image viewer installed. Figures.
  • sudo apt-get install tuxpaint
  • blank out names with stamps
  • upload to imgur
    • "filesize is too big!"
      • Crap, too many stamps
  • Re-edit file, this time with less stamps.
    • but still enough stamps, of course.
  • Upload to imgur
  • link to forums
    • didn't use the direct link, d'oh
  • Done.

Easy!

I sometimes drive Warships too.

Just wanting to clarification, is it against the rules to post battle results with the names of defeated enemies showing?  Not to say, show how bad the team was, but like if you got Mastery, do you have to blur the other players?

Additionally, can I post player names when saying I had a really good team?

Just ask yourself if the the intent or initial reaction to the post will be naming and shaming.

In these specific cases I am going to say it is fine to post names since you are showing your accomplishments. Now if the title of the thread was something like "Look what this team let me have..." it would be much more borderline and I would be inclined to zap the thread.

If you want to compliment or shout out a good team or player, feel free to do so!

If you have any more questions feel free to let me know!

Ok, now I feel bad.  I posted a screen capture where myself and a Jg8.8 2015 were the only ones with hits.  The other five players had 0 HP for the match.  How do I edit once it's been uploaded.  I don't see the attachment when I try to edit the post.

Is it just me or does this seem to be taken a little too far, pretty obvious what you can and can't do, may be just me but I wouldn't have ever thought this much detail would've been needed.

I'd be MUCH more impressed with WG if they did more to help prevent some of these idiots from being shamed in the first place. Do more in your "tutorial" for a start. Half of the people who are in there being useless and drawing this negative attention to themselves is pointed DIRECTLY at you- WG.

You guys want to come in here and tell us not to point out idiots... fair enough... how about you work EQUALLY hard at trying to ensure these people aren't idiots in the first place and have some grasp of the game in the tutorial without having to dig up 50 youtube videos.

Think of it this way: if you post on the PC forums with a screen shot that includes names (of any kind), whether or not is has anything to do with shaming or not, you will get a warning.  Just blur it out.  Simple.
