To continue in my quest to further help WoT Blitz players find the perfect premium Tank, I thought I'd add these types of polls where you could share your experiences. Due to the limit of 6 questions per topic, I'll break down the Tier VIII premium tanks into different polls for different nations (Russian and British tanks will be in a separate poll).  I'll link them all together and also link to them in my Premium Tank Guide in the Guides and Tutorials section. As more premium tanks are added to the game, I'll update the poll. I thought this format might be more useful than a which tank is best because we could argue all day about the merits of the T34 and IS-6. This is also focused on Tier VIII as those tanks are a much bigger investment, though I might add polls for other tiers if people are interested.

The poll is pretty simple, if you have the tank would you recommend it to a friend? If you don't have a tank is it one that looks interesting to you? Now this last question isn't a "would you like to collect this tank" but instead is this a tank you think you might actually go and hit the BATTLE button with. If you don't know if you would recommend a tank or if you might like it, there is the "Other" option.

IS-6 is one of the most fun tanks I have ever played, and does not need premium rounds as often as most people say. The gun has the famed "Russian Accuracy", and easily hits weakspots on all the tanks it should face.

KV-5 is definitely a tank I wish I had, but the one drawback is that it does not live up to the full potential of its PC brother, due to smaller hills = less ramming capability.

I love the IS6.  The gun is really random in its accuracy... hitting targets across the map, then missing from 20 feet, but it hits nice, has reasonable pen.  The armour is OK but you have to face your opponent... angled it blows.  This presents a few challenges.  It's a tank that rewards aggressive play.  Charge baby charge!

I do think it was slightly nerfed in the last patch, as a few others have mentioned.  It seems to pen a bit less and get penned a bit more.

I have the kv-5 on PC. I do not want it here on Blitz because you do not have room to take advantage of its strengths.

My KV-5 is hands down the most fun tank in my garage (T-62A is close... but not quite). Very powerful solo (~70% WR in mine) and downright OP in a platoon. 150mm sides + tracks = insane sidescraping abilities. It's the perfect bully with its ramming capabilities and monster size. While the pen is very low, the giant size helps because you're shooting down on most things, decreasing their sloping. Also, can't forget the amazing DPM (best of all tier 8 heavies)

I like to call out "HULK SMASH!!!" At the beginning of the match :)

But if you're stupid, you'll die VERY easily because of R2D2, anything can pen that. It's definately harder to play than the IS-6, and you have to think a bit more than just angling your armour. If you can get it to work though... Oh boy, does it work.

Go Big or Go Home.

If the KV-5 had fewer weak spots I'd consider it.  The fact that the hatch, cheeks, R2D2 and lower plate are all pretty soft makes it less desirable to me.

IS-6 is an incredible tank.  The debate rages on credit winning IS-6 vs T34 so ultimately you should choose the one that fits your playstyle better.  If you prefer an in your face pushing heavy, get an IS-6.  If you want a hull down monsta drive a T34.  I win 3/4 of my games in the IS-6, more than half of that solo.  It can't be a bad tank.

Really, the only place I usually get penned is R2D2. The lower plate is pretty strong, and the hatch is difficult to hit and most people don't even aim for it. And the cheeks are actually not weak, just flat (I rarely ever take a penetrating hit to the cheeks)

On top of that, if you get this thing into a sidescrape, or better yet, a reverse sidescrape, you're literally invincible. If you're caught in the open and move back/forth slightly and wiggle a bit, no one can hit your weak spots. Truly a monster

Not that I'm trying to convince you to buy one :P A player of your caliber in a KV-5... Oh lord

Go Big or Go Home.

I've really liked playing the IS-6. It rewards an aggressive, but not foolhardy, playstyle. It's pretty mobile for a front line heavy, has good armor, and a decent gun. It's a good all round tank without serious flaws and no quirks other than the weirdness of Russian accuracy. The income is good, too.

Sounds like you are confusing an IS3 with your 6.  Face pike nose straight on. You should angle your IS6 up to 20 degrees. It's laid out right on the front hull.

Yes, my bad.  Driving those two at the same time is very confusing actually.  They are so similar... And different...

I really enjoy the IS-6. Been thinking about the KV5 next time it's available.

I have played more than a thousand games in the T34 and recently purchased the IS6. I While there is definitely the new tank smell effect, a I enjoy the IS6 more and it's easier to carry games with it. In large, this is due to the preferential MM that the IS6 enjoys, but the T34 does not. The other reason is that in a one on one situation, the IS6 wins due to having more firepower and better gun handling when in the move. The T34 is more of a one trick pony no works only when hull down - the IS6 has way more tactical options, it can go frontline, but it is also fast enough to run with the mediums. It can play more or less any tactical role in the battlefield that can be asked for, while the T34 is much more limited. The pen with the Is6 is indeed and issue, but that is where the mobility of the IS6 comes into plaY and then there is always gold ammo (which is reasonably priced).
