iPad mini 1 with IOS8+ dasnipa1 my friend uses the same type a little newer than mine but has a lot more memory used and his never crashes.

If the app is repeatedly crashing, try closing out all your other apps before opening WoT to free up as much memory as possible. Don't play background music either - leaving Spotify playing music in the background is almost a guarantee that the app will crash as soon as I enter a battle.
Also, some maps (Winter Malikova and Castilla in particular) apparently require more memory, and those are usually the ones that crash it.
