It does work that way in your example.  It doesn't really matter what order they happened in.  What matters is all of the OTHER scores that were submitted in the last 7 days in that tank by other people.  Your 1235 was clearly in the top 99% if you got an Ace for it.  And so was your 1127.  They don't have to be on the same day. I'm not sure what's making you say/think that.

I consider myself a decent MEDIUM driver, and I just had this Completely unexpected Mastery game in my T54, which i NEVER THOUGHT was possible for me:

I see your logic.  Isn't the 99% a moving target?  If players continually raise the bar, then the 99% "number" will rise as well.  I was thinking that the bar rose above the third score.  Must not have, by your thinking.

It's absolutely a moving target as the 7-day period rolls along, if it does indeed use a rolling period.  Some people believe it "resets" on a particular day of the week and uses those past 7 days' worth of scores.  I don't think WG has ever really responded definitively on which one it is, but the wording of the medal leads to believe it's the former.

 

Different people play at different times, so I don't think the bar continually raises.  It ebbs and flows like all things.

Thanks Vanpeenen, It was truly an epic battle. I was able to take out TWO TD's, a T95 and an OBJ 704 and kill them both from full health, along with two other tanks. 

I can't believe that is the highest EXP for all T54's so far... 

I average ~1618 dmg per game in my T54, so this was a total ANOMALY for me, but a welcome one.

I like you idea to collect and make the Ace data systematic!

 

I have an idea how to improve the data. I don't have my ipad at work but I'm pretty sure that in-game stats show the maximum XP earned per each tank. Next, wotbstars helps to quickly identify the Aces. Thus, if face4stas can pull the same maximum XP earned per tank per player, we can somewhat safely say that those max XP was for the ace of that tank/player. Then, it will allow a much bigger dataset of ace (and even per tank data).

The problem with that is Max XP on a tank DOES include the premium 1.5x bonus.  And since the API doesn't tell us who has Premium and who doesn't, that would be an issue.

 

For example, I know from my own screenshot that my base XP on my M46 Patton Ace was 1921.  But the API says:

Max XP

2881 with M46 Patton

 

1921 * 1.5 = 2881

I agree, but arbitrary we can put the borders of the regular XP vs premium 1.5 XP. For example, my max ever XP is 2590. We know that base XP over 1500 is very difficult to get and it usually indicates an Ace. Thus, my 2590 is actually 1726 base XP.

 

We can establish "guardrails" for base XP per tier and apply 1.5 denominator when XP is more than the threshold. For instance, tier 8 max base is 1400, tier 9 - 1500, tier 10 - 1600. Whatever is higher gets divided by 1.5, whatever is lower stays the same. 

 

There is a chance to make a few mistakes on some data points with this subjective approach, but the benefit would a much larger dataset which will cover let's say 90% of correct instances

This is a great idea - and one that I tried myself initially.  There is nothing I would like more than to have a way to automate the process.  But, it is more complicated in that it involves the premium XP bonus.  The problem for me is that actually trying to automate the process of converting the max XP into the actual XP would be very messy (and inaccurate).  I'll also add that the max XP for a tank doesn't always correlate with an Ace earned for that tank.  For example, I have only earned one ace so far in my IS-4 - with a base XP of 1226; yet the max XP recorded for this tank  is for a battle where I earned more XP (2058 - which is the base xp 1372 times the 1.5 premium multiplier), but only got a 1st class mastery.  I agree that your approach would certainly provide a decent estimate of the overall benchmarks, but for me the potential (and unknowable) error it could introduce is more than I would be willing to risk.   

 

Granted it would speed up the process, but realistically all we probably need are around 15-20 examples from each tank type to get a decently accurate idea of what the Ace Mastery benchmarks are.
