Welcome to my second tank review! I decided that I will review most of the tier fours that I have extensively played. I will try not to be unnecessarily long to keep your interest up. Here us a link to my first review: http://forum.wotblitz.com/index.php?/topic/20809-alexbuildits-guide-to-the-valentine-mark-ii/
One of the only surviving photograph of the A-32
A-32 Soviet Tier four medium premium tank
History: The year is 1939 and Stalin is searching for a way to update his rapidly outdating fleet of tanks (t-26, and BT version/series). He wanted a tank with heavier armor and armament, and the result was the "A" series of tanks (A-20, A-32). They were both tested in Kubinka and both showed exemplary performance, but the turret design apparently left something to be desired. The result of these tests was the T-34 with the hull that looks like the A-32/A-20. From the T-34 the legendary T-34-85 developed. So in a way this is the "Grandpa" of the T-34-85, and you can certainly tell the resemblance from certain matching parts.
Maneuverability: (tier five engine) 10/10 WOW. One of the strong points of the tank......the BD-2 540 hp engine.....It's speed limit is 70 yes you heard me.....thats as fast as a T2 light....this things zzzziiiippppssss around the battlefield. It reaches its top speed rather easily as well. DO NOT use this speed to YOLO scout......You are fast, but overextending is rather easy. Its traverse speed is average at 40 degrees per second. It is easy to circle opponents.
Firepower: 7/10 Really good damage output for a tier four tank....thanks to the 76 mm L-10 U howitzer. However like most howitzers its aiming time and dispersion are high. SO when firing, stop for a few seconds aim and fire. It can choose between AP ammo (66 mm of penetration and 160 average damage) HEAT (75 mm of penetration 160 average damage) and the popular HE (38 mm of penetration 200 average damage) all at reload speeds of 5.8 rpm. HIGH damage output for a tier four. HE can penetrate most tier threes at various places and some parts of tier fours. I carry a straight 33% AP 33% HEAT 33% HE. Against tier fours and fives (yes sadly no premium mm) AP and HEAT are smart choices.
Armor: 4/10 What can i say but....Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle...... If you see a tier three aiming at you....this changes your weakspots and promotes bouncy armor. Most tier threes will have trouble penning the angled front and turret, and even some tier fours. The side armor is trash though due to no angling almost. The armor on the tank is 35 front 30 sides and 16 rear..... Tier fives will laugh at your armor, so don't rely on this, but on your speed and DPM and DPS.
Enough with the boring stats..... on to gameplay! I have a vid (I know I already posted it before) and because it fits here it is.
Use your speed to your advantage, know when to break through enemy lines and flank, and when to hold your ground and play peek-a-boom. If you misuse your great speed, the garage will be welcoming you back relatively quickly. Basically don't get hit. This tank CAN ram, but I don't recommend doing it without spall liner due to low weight value. (19.54 tons)
Equipment and consumable load out for non-ramming missions:
Equipment: Gun laying drive: to help with howitzers long aim time
Ammo Rammer (Obvious reasons)
Vents (get that crew reading and aiming faster!
Consumables: Extra combat rations (more about that gun)
Multi-repair kit (duh)
Adrenaline (reload faster for tight spots.
Ramming missions
Equipment: Spall liner (DON'T RAM WITHOUT IT. EVER.)
:GLD (same reason as above)
:Ammo Rammer (ditto)
Consumables: Speed boost (RAMMING SPEED CAPTAIN)
:Multi repair-kit (duh
:Extra combat rations
Obviously this took a lot of time to put together, if you think I was wrong in any of what i said, please comment and correct me below. I enjoy constructive criticism. If you found this helpful, please +1 Alexbuildit out....Blitz On!
