I have the gun from the T-34-85, and the engine as well. I free ex'd the turret and tracks. Played 2 battles in it and starting to get the hang of it! Very fun tenk indeed.

 

Any other tips on how to play this tank? (+2 battle tips would be helpful, the 2 battles I've played were -2)

Add Optics to increase your view range...A few prammo rounds in the quiver will help for those Tier IX battles...

 

Scout, spot, move in 'n out...Never trade stationary shoots...If you are forced in the open use the speed and maneuverability to stay out of trouble...Always take flanks and drag another medium with you...

 

I had Rations, adrenaline and multi as consumables...

 

Vents, Rammer and optics as equipment until you have the 100% crew. if you max the crew then you can change the Vents and Rations for a repair kit and wet ammmo rack...

Played 99 battles with a 69.70% winrate. Exceptional tank and really looking forward to the next in the line.

 

I played it like a mobile, good accuracy flanker. The turret rotation is very good so I would highly recommend the circle of death technique. Alpha is surprisingly good, averages around 180, so be aware that you can pack a strong punch in a fight. Reload is also pretty good so you can do some serious damage per minute.

 

Keep one eye on the minimap at all times. Wherever there are no tanks, go there and flank around to fire at the enemy's behinds. If you have another medium as a partner it works very well. I find that the Panther is a good partner; you have a strong alpha gun and the Panther has a strong penetration gun. Flanking effectively can net you lots of damage and kills.

 

Another technique is to do peek-a-boom. T-43's acceleration is pretty good so you can poke out, fire, and retreat before the enemy has a chance. In this style the gun can be inadequate because shooting frontally, your gun might not be able to penetrate, which is why this tank is better at flanking. But engaging as a front-line support is still plausible and is a technique that I tried occasionally.

Always rock a lil back and forth when you want to hold position. Never stand still, static. Hi ROF means keep the gun blazing, try to get 3 shots to their 1.

Remember this is the last tank in the line with decent gun depression.  8 degrees is a lot more workable than the 5 that comes on the later mediums.  You can hull down and bounce some shots.  Your turret isn't bomb proof by any means, but it is small and if you keep moving side to side it is a tough target.  I don't remember having to many ammo rack issues with it.

This was one of my favorite tanks in the game.  DPM is actually better than the T-44 with the 100 mm guns, gun depression is decent, mobility is excellent and the armor will bounce an occasional shot.  It is very versatile and tons of fun to play.

The T-43 is one of my favorite tanks in the game. It's fast, reasonably well protected, and has a fast gun. It's head and shoulders better than any other Tier VII medium (looking at you, Panther I).

 

I play it as a flanker/disruptor, because you can get out of trouble very quickly. Its mobility is its real strength, because you can quickly change your entire attack approach, almost like a T-54.

I'm glad you're enjoying the T-43, I'm on the Russian medium tank tree now, the grind isn't too bad either since all the Russian mediums are a joy to play.

What others have said plus I'd add that its size allows for hiding behind dead tanks. I started using this technique al ot once I got a feel for taking on heavies in it. Its size relative to the tanks it sees in battles is fairly unique.
