Lately, I've noticed a couple of questions regarding matchmaking. In response to these threads/PM's, I took the time to request a "preferential match making" chart from our dev team, and here's what they provided for the community: 

 

 

Please note that there are some words in Russian. The 1st column on the left hand side translates to "Vehicle Tier". The 2nd column right next to it translates to "Vehicle Name". 

 

In addition to the translations, the different colors signify the various tank types in game:

 

Blue =  Light Tanks

Orange = Medium Tanks

Violet = Heavy Tanks

Green= Tank Destroyers

 

Let me know if you have any questions about this chart and I'll be happy to clarify!

 

**Update: Per ashredstealth's request, I've edited my original post and added the translated version of pref MM that he created:

*Note: Tanks that are not included in the chart have standard match making.

It doesnt include the lowest tier they see... Just includes tiers their tier and higher each tank will see

This is just preferred MM. Last week I  had battle after battle in tier V games running solo my Pz B2 740. It did worked out while platooning e.g we were the highest tier in any game we ran. 

It is interesting that preferred tanks can face only tanks 1 tier above their lvl whereas regular tanks can go up to +2.

The pzb2 never sees t5 unless you are platooned with a t4 or higher. And thanks for the list.

yeah man, get your friend to take a tier three

it wont mess up your pref mm and they can use an M2 medium/ t82/ LTP

Odd question, but…does preferential MM also keep certain maps off-limits to some premium tanks?

 

I mean, we already know some maps are limited by tier: Tier I and II tanks never see Falls Creek, Winter Malinovka, Oasis Palms, etc. And Lost Temple is Tier IV and up. But I swear I have never played my TOG II* on Copperfield. Ever. 200 games. Yesterday I was trying to think of my high/low go-to spots in TOG II*…and I realized that I have never played my TOG there, never seen a TOG there, green or red… can that be coincidence?

I saw a TOG on Copperfield just last night.

They're on there.  3rd and 4th lines from the bottom.
