YAS!
I do this all the time.
More often than not, people will shoot your tracks.

Thanks!
I hope to help people, especially since this is a well sought-after tank and it is very weak in the early grind.

"Now, the almost-half-minute reload will keep you out of the game for a long time, but you can use the time to effectively analyze the situation: retreat if you have to. More often than not, I see KV-1S drivers get their 122mm cannons fired once per game, and get swarmed by the enemies in the cap or on one of the flanks, pushing WAY too hard. Also, it is really frustrating to miss and bounce shots. The 122mm has bad aim time and accuracy, so stopping to let the reticule shrink may get you killed. Instead, you need to develop a judgement of when to fire on the move, and when to hold a shot. These skills will only carry over to the rest of the line of (current) Russian heavies. GL!"
As a new owner of a KV1S, I find the above to be so well-articulated. My experience exactly.
Something else that has been frustrating: my tracks get nailed, and I end up being immobilized *a lot.* I've grinded up to a Jackson, and a VK 30.01, and I also had a lot of success with my KV1 and enjoyed it, but this KV1S just gets immobilized all the time, and becomes a sitting duck way too often, which is bad because (see above) you have a much longer 122 reloading time than those who can just take you out while you're stuck there. I've used repair consumables that run out only to hear "our track's been hit--we can't move!" a second later. Maybe this is just the additional savvy of players in the higher tiers, but it also seems to be outgunned, outmaneuvered, and seems much less protected than opponents with the VII etc. tiers you often end up against, more so than other tier advances I've experienced.
Is there a track vulnerability peculiar to the KV1S?
So far all the early exits have been frustrating, but hopefully it'll make me a better tanker. Maybe things will improve once I get it maxed out?

@GloWaves:
I wish I still had the KV-1S so I could maybe platoon with you.
No tanks have a particular track weakness. You are probably angling too much, and giving your drive wheel to the enemy. Or you may just be unlucky enough to be against people who constantly track you.
I run both repair packs on all my regular tanks (premiums get food consumables) to compensate for a fire as well as a second tracking shot.
For now, don't expose your drive wheel and try not to lead any charges and poke corners.
A toolbox is a last resort for this issue.

Thank you for the guide.
I just got my KV-1S and I love it, but it's a pretty rough start. Matchmaking at Tier VI is horrendous — I'd say 3 out of 4 games I'm matched up against Tier VII and VIII tanks. I'm pumping all of my free exp into this tank; I'm grinding hard for that beastly Tier VII 122mm D-2-5T gun (it costs 20k exp!). For now I'm stuck with the old 122mm U-11 and it just isn't cutting it against the hordes of Tier VII and VIII heavies that I'm getting matched against. I tried using the 76mm S-54 gun and holy god it is terrible. I bounced so many shots it was ridiculous. But it's fine, I know that it will get much better once I get the credits and exp to buy equipment and modules, and get my crew trained. I was debating hard between the KV-1S and the T-150, and I'm glad I chose this tank. Even though mine is pretty weak right now, I'm still having fun playing it.

Playing with EPIC and other KV1S players it is very important you cover their reload in a platoon. I can not stress this enough.
Cover, meaning they don't get flanked or Penned from the side while they're reloading?
Been trying to work on this with other Platoon mates which is so AGGRO!! They think Platooning is rolling out together and pray for a win without helping me or drive off and I can't support them.
Thx
I Love it when you call me Big Poppa, I love it when she calls me Big Daddy!

LOVE my KV1S a lot, i have sold IS and KV3 even KV4 but kept this one.it gave me a lot of free xp but sucks when you have to exchange gold for it. Still when i run out of credits i play this machine and more often i win. When you maxxed the tank your enemy will fear you even higher tiers but you need to aim correctly otherwise you will regret firing.
