Hello, Tankers.

I am in discernment. I would like to get the TOG II, but don't know if I should. I know it has a great gun, tons of armor, a cult following,:B low speed, and a fast reload time.

I want to know if it earns LOTS of credits quickly, can deflect shots considering it has the flattest side in the game, and any other facts you all wish to tell me.

I have a friend who has some Tier X tanks, potato_annihilator45, and he hates the TOG. He urges me to get the Panther M10, which he says is the best tank in the game. I know the P/M10 is a bit more expensive, but if I need to spend a bit more for a better tank, then so be it.

Yours in Tanking,

Ted_Ham

I don't want to spend too much money though. The IS-6 requires a lot of gold.

Lots of armor? The tank's redeeming factor is it's size which causes de lolz, otherwise it's terrible.

Save your money then. Tog isn't worth it.

The TOG's credit printing ability is completely dependent on the situation.  It can make large amounts of credits, but I would not call it reliable.

Also, it doesn't have armor.  Anywhere.  Just a fast firing gun with pretty good pen and decent damage.

Depends on what you refer to as fun.

It's stupidly slow.  Usually by the time you get to the fight one of your team mates is dead.  Rarely, you don't get to the fight because even though you've been moving at full speed the whole time the other six people on your team have just taken care of business without you.

Most of the time when the battle starts people will be "OMG TOG!"  "KILL TOG"  "I WANT TOG" "STICK WITH TOG" etc etc.  So if you enjoy that sort of attention, then maybe you'll think it's fun.

Most of your battles you will slowly move out, try and find the enemy, locate someone who wants to peek-a-boom you to death, which you can't really do back, or charge at, and you will get in a shoot out, and once you've been spotted the Reds come in like sharks to the kill.

Of course, my experience with the TOG is solo, and I'm definitely not that skilled in the Way of the TOG.  My best game in the TOG I won by not shooting.

http://forum.wotblitz.com/index.php?/topic/16948-game-won-no-damage-taken-never-fired-a-shot-killed-two-tanks/page__fromsearch__1

I've heard that a platoon of them is fairly OP, and I could probably believe that... They would have a HUGE pool of HP, and a pretty amazing DPM and pen... so it would be difficult for the Reds to approach.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Buy it if you want to have a laugh. It's a comedy tank.

I don't believe I've ever bounced a shot in my TOG.  As a matter of fact, I think I lose HP when the guy next to me gets shot.

Good gun though.  And you can park on the tracks in Dead Rails and hide as one of the train cars.  Most people won't notice if you sit still.

Actually the TOG is pretty good because before you go down you just can't avoid doing certain amount of damage and it takes some time to kill TOG. IMHO TOG is a very good beginner tank because you will be shooting and you will allow other people to take advantage of your health pool to turn the tide of a battle.

Speaking of Panther M10: I know that some people love it but for some reasons it does not fly well for me; Victory on the other hand is awesome in my hands. I guess I have to unlock the Panther M10 for myself yet but it's not easy. I guess what I want to say is that Panther M10 is harder to play than TOG and it may not be the best choice to grind credits for many people.

After listening to Lephturn's podcast in which he recently praised the Panther line (and the M10 Panther), I am quite tempted to try the M10. After nearly a full year playing this game, I have yet to move past tier 4 in German tanks. I think I am just burnt out with grinding and am not looking forward to another long grind, so the M10 might be my way of dipping my toe I to the pool. If I like it, I'll man up and try grinding the E-50M line. But I want to wait to see if the Type 59 shows up as a surprise in the update. That's the one I want the most.

IMO, the tog should be bought for fun, not for any in game benefit (other than fun) There are infinite ways to use this, and it will give you a good laugh. If you want a credit earner in tier 6, get (any) others

Love my tog and it bounces plenty of tier 5 shots for me. I may be slightly biased as I have a 71% WR in it right now so ya...

I've found my Tog is a fairly reliable  credit printer (~22k per game). It is best, however in a platoon of any other tank (V or VI) and can hold its own against 1-2 opponents if need be. Just don't expect to be bouncing shots left and right *cough cough* IS-6 and T34 *cough cough*. But at 70% WR and having more fun with it than I did before, I love it.
