Perfect example of RNG laughing in your face.
It's completely random. Just accept it, it happens sometimes

Standard AP, who uses heat on tier 8 heavies, are you trying to pen the tank behind them?
And I have armor inspector but it seemed ilogical for game mechanics to let this happen, the shell can pen a foot of armor and it gets stopped by a couple of pieces of cast iron?

There is nothing but tracks on the side of a T32, and his turret face is impenetrable even to a tier X TD

I have whole games in the E-100 where all I do is bounce until I die. Next game I'll pen everything and anything that moves. RNG seems to have a wide range for the big germans. Don't really encounter such drastic differences in my other tanks.

I've never seen you play, so I have no idea what you do or do not know. You've probably seen plenty of people do inexplicable things, so my question wasn't out of nowhere.
Anyway, a round isn't "stopped" by a couple of pieces of cast iron (I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure no one made their road wheels out of cast iron anyway, since it'd be far too brittle,) but it is disrupted by it; even a small change in the shell's path or attitude could be enough to prevent it from penning the hull.

Have you played the ISU with a BL-10? It's nicknamed the Troll Cannon for a reason...

IRL that could initiate fuse action of the shell, look at the slat armor on modern AFVs. Also part of the reason American M4 tankers piled anything they could on their tanks: extra tracks, sandbags, wood, concrete. Not all equally effective, (sandbags were only good vs panzerfaust not AP shells for example) and the practice was eventually stopped (at least in Patton's 3rd Army) because the loss of mobility was causing more losses than without the extra protection.
Blitz isn't real life though, so pray harder to RNGesus I guess?
