This is becoming more common it seems.  One thing I have learned to always be prepared for is needing APCR ammo to deal damage to a tank that is above my tier.   I first noticed problems when encountering t29's or Tigers when I was just starting with my M6.  I could take 3-4 shots and no damage was dealt because the armor is too thick.  Unless I was able to maneuver around to flank or get behind, I was in trouble.  Loading APCR ammo does allow me deal damage  from positions that standard AP ammo doesn't.  Just something to keep in mind.

I avoided that ammo for a while because it's expensive but now I always keep at least 6-10 shells on board for those matches where my tank is in a match and I'm at the bottom of the food chain.  I only load it when needed to try an avoid the expense.

Also, look around and try to travel with a friendly tank that is several tiers higher because that gun will deal damage your tank can't and hopefully you can time your shots to avoid being hit while the enemy concentrates on the higher tier friendly.

These are just two things I've adapted into my play and I know there are others that can be incorporated that more skilled players could elaborate on.

if I'm 2 tiers lower, I'll try and scout, flank, and track unless I'm in something like the KV-1s or IS-3 that can pen higher tiers

That's normal. You should see that type of matches Chaffee drivers get into on PC. A Tier V LT that gets into Tier X games. But this is normal, due to the fact that it's a 2 Tier spread in Match Making.

Never complain about this.

You have a higher chance of getting higher exp and damage.

WoT rewards lower tiers with more exp for hitting higher tier opponents, and the overall health pool of higher tier opponents is wayyyyy higher.

To me this an opportunity to rack up some nice exp and credits. Don't okay suicidal, but always try and track to help allies or flank and shoot rear. Don't go for cap right away or try and head head first

^^^ Onemeaus is right. Seems like every match I get in my T-34 is against at least two teir VII's. I just try to find the biggest mutha on my team and hang with him, supporting anyway I can. I usually let him pick the target and then I start pop'n tracks. With the ROF of my t-34 I can keep a tank trackless and sneak a few pen shots in as well. You can shut a team down quick like this. Just last night I was able to take out a jagdpanther and t-20 with my t-34. Got both of them myself. The big boys did most of the damage but when it was down to 2 on 2 I was able to finish them off for the win.

When all else fails, aim for the commander's hatch! If that doesn't work, track and flank and spot. Easiest way to track someone is by shooting the drive wheels (front wheel) and the back wheels whatever those are called

I ran into the same problem and it seems to be specific to M6 or class VI tanks. I constantly get into matches, where more than half the other tanks ate class VIII. I can't scratch them from the front at least at all and the M6 is not a good flanking tank either. It's annoying and I think it may have to do with the distribution of players - I suspect that there are a lot of Class VIII players around, so the MM serves them Class VI as target practice. Just this night, I had 5 matches in row that were brimming with Class VIII tanks.

I did not have the same problem with Class V tanks - although I do get into matches with VII tanks into those, it does not seem to be a persistent as with the M6. This makes it very hard to upgrade crew skills and get the upgraded equipment (90mm gun etc.). I think I just play other tanks until this streak hopefully blows over.

I've been up the tiers several times.  Tier 6 seems to be the most difficult, as  you do not have the firepower yet to deal with the higher tiers.  The first time dealing with this, I almost quit, but now I know how to handle it.  As previous stated.  keep some gold rounds on board--I don't leave home without them.

whenerver I verse tanks 2 teirs higher, I am not afraid.

I know that even though I am two tiers lower, my gun can be of the same lvl teir (example: teir 7 gun on tier 5 like vk30.01h vs IS)

You can reliable penetrate most of the side hull armor and even the front on some tanks!

no need for gold ammo

all you need to do is stay back a bit and not be as aggressive

But if you are afraid to load the gold, prepare for losses.

Personally, they are a true benefit, and your WR won't suffer if you fail to pen a shot or two. You can usually make up the cost with a win, as well.

Not if they are camping 500m away at the back.

I've tried to spot and support, and got brutally rushed.

I have learned to let the suiciders go, and never to wander alone.
