Quick question on the use of APCR.  I carry it and use it when I can't pen with AP.  I see a lot of folks who mostly use it.  When I'm in a tier 10 game in the T44, I burn negative credits with a premium account.  How do you make up for this as you go up tiers?  Now that I'm in tier 8, my credit production has plateau'd.  Are you forced to buy credits?  Or do you play lower tiers to earn credits?

All are valid answers. Now if you r shooting apcr in tier X and loosing silver is because u r just spamming without damage done. Shoot sides and rears when u r in X battles....

I don't mean to hijack the tread.  I only use apcr in the T44 when I'm up against a higher tier or IS6 or T34.  When I do, I'm sure to lose 10-20k credits.  Even if I do a lot od damage.  Does that issue get better as you go to tier 9 and 10.  I was worried it would get worse....

Honest answer..... Buy a few premium tanks. The IS-6, Jagdtiger 8.8 and the T26E4 are my money makers. They just print credits out.

To play devil's advocate - you're saying you can only win by paying for it? You can't shoot lots of prammo on a T54 without one or more of: premium account, premium tank (to fund the cost of prammo), or gold, all of which cost money. That's what people have against it. Not to get into the prammo arguments all over again, but more than a few rounds is shades of pay-to-win.

The T-54 is one of those tanks that pretty much rely on prammo. They just don't have great pen with their AP rounds. Same case with the E-100 and a few others. And honestly? It's a legitimate game mechanic available to all. You don't even have to spend real money. Not my if fault if others don't want to use it.

i've lost 80k in a game in my T-54 because i was face to face with a hull down Maus, and no way to circle him without taking 2-3 hits from him + his back up, so I spammed the HEAT at him and then his other T10 heavy buddies and ended with like 6k damage.

There will always be purists out there (aka snobs) who won't use prammo. I guess i understand that you want to intentionally make things more difficult on yourself. I don't spam gold normally, but there are times it becomes necessary. I'm not going to lose a game because i have some inane compulsion to take a moral high ground.

Tier 9-10 aren't really profitable. And some tanks just don't make profit at all. So it will get worse. But being Tier 8 in medium in tier 9-10 is one of the worst cases as you will either bounce or rely on prammo heavily. If latter you are destined to bleed a lot of credits.

You end up buying a gold tank to afford the gold shells :-)

Although a premium account will normally do the job too, I think a gold tank is much cheaper in real world cash outlay - you've only got to buy it once.

 

I think most (all?) the people who run X consistently have a tank they farm credits in to support their X's

The t54 is the only tank I spam heat with. I love racing to the mill on WM and putting 3-4 shots into the cheeks of an e100 or Jag Pz. They cry like little girls.
