So Sm485261 just released his video about the upcoming soviet tanks. I'm just now at the T-44 which means once I grind it and the T-54, I'll have two awesome soviet medium tanks to choose from. The tanks are very similar, the obj.140 has much better gun depression though. On blitz though, as of now, the T-62A will have a greater RoF. The other tanks he showcased were the KV-2 and KV-13. The KV-1 will lead to the KV-2, so get a KV-1 and pre-grind some XP in it.

I'm on the T-44 too! Are you going to get the 140 or 62A? I'm leaning towards the 140...

I wouldn't say much better as it's only 1 degree more. 

 

I'm on the T-54 now grinding xp and credits for the Tier X

Do NOT get the 140 first. T-62 is a better overall tank because its turret isn't crap.

this sums it up. 62A turret makes a difference. 140 is easily penned by T10 guns

I'm a crapfest in the T62A. I mean total poop. 

I am definetly getting the 140 the second it drops. 

Because that makes logimatic sense.

That one degree of gun depression on the Obj. 140 makes so much of a difference. And doesn't it have more health, 1900 vs the T62's 1800?

Spent all day reading so many guides and forum posts my head is spinning. The following is second hand and the skill and knowledge base from the posts above should be differed to but this is what I think it boils down too:

 

 

 

T-62a fits a hull down and carve out the Red's hit point pool play style. 

 

Object-140 is a more mobile zip around--finding perfect lanes of fire. . .a more Brit med style of play.

 

Just my two Zimbabweian cents.

So they are going to branch off of the t54?  Not something else.....like t-34-85?  If so, that would be great!  Already have the t62a and was going to repurchase the t54 until the Leopard line came out (just need silver to get PTA).  Just wish they would also introduce higher tiered light tanks.....but this obj. 140 could be fun. 

 

If you're worried about bouncing shots, than you really just need to get/stay on the t54 (or go E50m).  My $.02.

If it is near Leopard Quick, then i might be interested, otherwise there is no reason to grab this when a T62a is avalable.

Yes. From the T-54, a tank even many dedicated 90% tier X only playing Supers still roll. I imagine many a credit grind since a ton of players have enough XP to unlock the Object the nanosecond it drops on the tech tree.

Hmm. Guess I'll see how I go when I get to that point. I have the T-34-85 at the moment, so I have some time before I make a decision.

Do we know what the difference in DPM/RoF is going to be?  I will probably get it regardless.  The gun depression on the T-62 can be unbelievably frustrating at times.  Whether or not it is worth giving up some turret armor for 1 degree more remains to be seen.

I have over a million exp on my 54. I'll be one of the many who get the Obj as soon as it drops. Get ready for battles with 4 or 5 Obj 140 per side.

I dunno, besides the rather unfortunate cupola weakspots, the turret is pretty tough. Mainly looks like you'll need to pop in and out of cover to avoid getting your cupolas sniped.

 

I'm still ticked they nerfed its RoF though.

I dunno, no (non-TD) gun can pen either turret with default rounds, but, when firing HEAT from any medium, it looks like a significantly larger portion of the 62a turret is vulnerable.

That said, the 140 has more prominent cupolas, and a small turret roof area you can penetrate with most tier X guns.
